Hi, need some infos, any1 of you here hav engaged lawyer before? for black n white drafting to coi bike.. to protect both buyer n seller? any firm to recommend n pricing too? thanks!

This will not be considered a legal move as LTA states that any sales transaction of motor vehicles (Cash sale or COI) musy be followed up with a vehicle transfer within 7 days otherwise the transaction is considered null and void.

Nope... $250 is just for drafting the letter.. to sue that guy, you must pay another fee.. sure will come up to thousands one..

 

To think about it, not really worth to coi unless you know that guy inside out, even then... dangerous (the risks will not disappear).. sh!t happens when $$/assets are involved between two humans...

yeah... friends became enemies because of a car... friends became total strangers because of $$... Cousins became a nuisance because of a handphone...

 

Not worth it.. Can afford, get your own.. Why "borrow"...

Only COI if blood family la...like father and son or brother....still got risk but minimal. Y not re-finance the whole thing and transfer.....saves future time. Money maybe lost in the process.

getting a lawyer to draft would be a option for mi.. $250 is acceptable as long as it will be valid..

 

my scenario is that i'm selling tis $13k COI bike.. but unable to transfer the loan to buyer..

 

full payment of $13k(same as COI -_-") den getting the buyer to reloan would cause him to pay more cos loan $13k + interest = $13k++++

hmm... the lawyer agreement will be valid.. but to pursue the matter should your buyer back out and never pay, you have to bring it up to court, which will cost even more $$$..

 

Best is to ask him/her to find his/her own reloan from bank or elsewhere... to be really safe la..

Ya, if a "good" friend can play u out, then I suggest being careful in all ur investments.
