I got this prob on my S4,

I changed the clutch plates alr still the same

next thing I was told to change the clutch cover, the big metal cover that holds the clutch and that cost me over $200

now it's perfect... but it cost a hole in my pocket...

I suggest you go to other bike shop that is more well-known. Definitely not done properly. If got burnt smell, means clutch burnt. Meaning not fix properly. Dun trust anyone too much especially when you are paying them. Get more opinion here from those that you think is logical. You should know who when you read thru the threads here.

Not all mechs are the same. Some are good at talking but no good at work. Some not good at talking but good at work. If you are lucky, then your mech has both.

It easy to know if the clutch is slipping or not. Ride in higher gear and open the throttle. If RPM goes up and speed doesn't then you have the answer. I would first check what oil you are using. I would say some wet clutches don't like synthetic oil. If it's done at the bike shop recently, go back and have a check. Enjoy.

I have the same problem as well. When bike temp shoots up, the problem starts. normally rev till 3.5k got power, when problem, even when rev till 4-5k only moving at 40km/hr.

The worst happened that day. Stopped at traffic light, when time to move off, temp was about 106-108. engage gear and rev, the bike did not move. it is as if the bike was on neutral.

Parked the bike, when to office. At night went back to the bike and try my luck before calling tow. Surprised! It is fine.

I am so lost now. what;s wrong? Burnt Clutch?

The bike has a air and bike temp read. I just noticed that the clutch issue always happens once it hits 100 celius and above.

I gave up, send to bike shop le... spend $$ again... and no bike to ride for now. sad....
