Hi guys,

 

I'm riding spec2 and at full tank , i can travell till abt 280km then my fuel meter start to flash. Is it normal consumption? Also when fuel meter start to flash.. how much more Km can the fuel tank last? Btw how you guys judge by km/L?

 

how big is spec2 fuel tank, 18 litre too?

Mine also 280km+/-

Flashes meaning hit reserved liao

Heard can go another 72km

km/L = Total Mileage Travelled / Total Petrol Pumped

The tank is 18L

Why disconnect the reseves tank if not enough coolant in ur system u risk of greater damage and are u sure u wan that?

No one in the right mind will go disconnect the tank.

Erm... He diidn't Disconnect it... When he send his bike for Servicing at SANFU they forgotten to Connect it back...

no la... actually is connected... but there is another tube which should be connected to the coolant reservoir linking to below the bike for overflowed coolant to leak out... that tube missing lor... i oso got a shocked.. i tot why got tube missing...

hi guys,

 

i'm totally new to this bike. i'm riding a spec II...

 

well its quite an experience!

but i have a few Qn to ask u gurus here...

 

1. if i change k&n air filter will i need to retune my carb cos more air will make mixture lean and so its O-O-T.

 

2. what are shims??? (really blurr..):confused:

 

3. anyone here llikes to DIY?

 

4. which engine oil is the best for my bike? Fu plate with 40k mileage..

fully or semi? heard old engine no need to use fully syn.

 

5. are there aftermarket innard springs for the fork? which oil density is better?

Hi kaginah, is your spec2 blue in colour? Saw that Albert just sold a blue Fu spec 2 a few days ago.

 

Btw guys... when i travell at abt 100km/hr , i feel a slight vibration at my right foot petal, is it normal?

nope my vtec bought at cycle link... its a gun metal grey with spec III design...

i also feel vibrations when i hit ard 90 kmh... at first very jialat but slightly reduced after i washed my chain and lube it nicely... then further slightly reduced after i changed tyres... think next will be my wheel bearings... den maybe will be not so much vibration...

problem as above...

difficulty going beyond 5krpm at 6th gear..

all gear no pickup...

 

just tuned n wash carbs not long ago..

wat could b the problem??

wounds like an engine problem. Time to find a reputable mechanic to solve your engine woes...

mi bike juz broke dwn @ suntec there... :cry:

juz died suddenly n i cant start it...got the startin sound but wil bcom weaker n weaker... :cry:

nw wait 4 tow truck 2 tow... :cry:

:sorry: Sorry to hear that. Probably your battery already flat or your recifier is faulty liao. Just change them and should be okie. Usually what I did when my bike die half way, I park somewhere...go home get my spare battery and recifier to fix it. First I will change my battery first, then I use the voltmeter to check the voltage should be around 12.8 ~ 13VDC and stay there when I ramp at higher RPM in netural gear. If it doesn't, that means the recifier spoil liao. Hope this help :cheer:

hi my frend oso got tis problem. when idling the time it die. He jus change battery n recifier. but still the same. it die when idling. then when restart again, there's no electric cming out. anyone encounter tis? :giddy:

1) When idling that time, it just die? I experience this before. I send it to the mechanic and he said the carb is dirty and need to clean. I also asked them to tune the engine since my last tuning was done almost a year ago. Spark plug was also change altogether. After that the idling was constant and engine did not die anymore.

 

2) No electric coming out after changing the battery and recifier? Probably the carbon coil has worn off especially if the bike is about 4 to 5 years old. Meanwhile, you can still push start the bike.

my bike oso same prob.. at first tot rectifier spoil and went to change a new one... but after changing.. my bike voltage very unstable and the mechanic troubleshoot for me and found out one of the wires in the terminal which is connected to the rectifier is faulty.. so he jus changed a new wire for me which includes a fuse... told me it will still work fine with the new wire... and told me not necessary to change new one.. and says if i wan change a new terminal... cost around $60...

guys if the oil is dark brownish in colour almost black is it time to change oil? i just changed my oil about 2000 km ago with motul 300v + engine protector from combine. i did an engine flush prior to that.
