Whats Up DaWgZ!!

redname>>> i doubt so...unless...every morning you see oil stain on the ground...it could be...but it doesnt have to be your fuel leaking...it could be your gasket for the engine block has worn out...but do look out for hoses near your side stand...to my knowledge that is overflow hoses...for topping up cases...

i'm suspecting my fuel is leaking cause last time when i top up to the brim & leave my bike in one corner while i TCSS, nothing happens, recently there'll be a wet patch below, smells like petrol

Ask your mech to check your water/coolant pump.

since he already flush his coolant (i assume he brought to mech & do it), the mech shld be able to point out whether the pump is not working cause he'll need to rev in order to get rid of the air inside, which will also test whether the pump is working or not

might be due to gasket of the engine head causing coolant leakage

Whats Up DaWgZ!!

redname>>> thats what i mean...there are 2 hoses besides your side stand...if you top up petrol up to the brim....it will overflow through these 2 hoses....if it is not by your side stand...it should be somewhere near your radiator side...at the bottom...juz my observations......bro how you know the water/fuel pump is werking or not?...

william_Tan>>> thanks for your advice...i will try that option...i found out that my thermostat is faulty...so i bypass it and fixed a switch...so i can control my fan...will get that changed soon...

stanboy81>>> bro...buy first hand lah...dun buy 2nd hand...things got to do with safety...i rather not buy 2nd hand....there are few good brake pads around at a affordable price...btw..gasket at the engine head...you mean at the top block of the engine right...when i send for full servicing...i changed quite a number of stuffs....including gaskets...i suspect my engine oil...you know...bike is already 9 years old...but whatever it is...i will go to the bottom of this...

Hi guys,

Is the bike starting temperature dependent?

When the engine is warm (or hot) after running some distance and you parked for a while, have any of you experienced difficulty (need more ignition attempts, about 3 times with a little throttle, compared to "one press one start") in starting your bike?

Cold start in the morning for my bike is no problem - one press one start.

Thanks

i only know bout water pump. u have to open up ur radiator cap & rev the bike, if its working, the coolent shld be coming out then when u release ur throttle & turn off the engine, the coolent shld go back to the radiator

anyway, stanboy81 was toking about brake rotors not brake pads

anybody can provide the steps to DIY to change oil filter? I've got the new oil filter and the oil filter remover (from LAB)... whats next?

Philosophy A: Ignore what everyone else thinks. Riding is a better way to get around. Ride paranoid and keep your skills sharp

Philosophy B: Ride with somebody who's better than you. You will pick up a handy trick or new skill just about every time you are out

Philosophy C: You don't need a big bike to prove ur passion for riding

use oil filter opener, open old oil filter, put in new oil filter, top up a little engine oil (200ml).

Please be more environmentally aware and dispose of your old oil filter and the little bit of used oil at bike or car shops where they have the proper means of disposing it for you.

Just out of curiousity, why are you changing your oil filter now without changing your engine oil? It will be so much more easier to change it when you are changing your engine oil. And price of oil filter does not really vary very much whether you fix it yourself or not.

just something to share... my bike broke down recently.. today just collected... according to my friend, the rect and batt are gonners...

signs on the rect is one side is rusty only... he told me that this means that the rect is not fixed properly with the base fully on the chasis. true enough i have my bike grounded and have been riding short distance which i think would not have cause the rect to burn. until last wk when i travel amost 100KM non stop which i think that the rec burn due to overheating... the heat transfer to cool down the rect is thru the base to the chasis.

so guys maybe u might wanna check after u install the grounding that the rec is fixed flat in contact onto the chasis.

might or might not be true... just wanna share...

oh... so sorry.. i think i should not say where or who i installed... well my cousin got the contact thru some friends of his.. both of us went to install together. my cousin bike is still running well till now....

its not really his fault... i am sure he did check but just miss out that little bit on my bike... so do check that ur rect base is fully rested on the chasis if u have grounding installed or have just changed to a new rect... prevention is better than cure....

pardon me for not sharing as i do not want to cause the person to lose business due to a small mistake..... just that sometimes we have to double check...
