Troubleshoot ur Super4!

Would like to check with you guys... my bike (ver s) have a rythmic thumping sound from the engine when i ride above 80km/hr. when i maintain or open throttle then will have that sound. When i close the throttle then dont have. anybody experienced that b4? thks!

Bro, most like ly its your gasket worn off. Just send in for gasket change. Better still change engine oil too.

Did u just did grounding or did ur bike went thru intensive rain ..or did you just changed your cowling(head)??... Pls give more details.

 

Wat I experienced before, my low beam and high beam both died while riding along BKE. Found out due to the very heavy rain that day and I didn't cover my bike at the carpark....

Ya... maybe went thru intensive rain... rainy days recently... and last week got few days forgot to cover the bike at the office.

 

When u open it up, wat happen inside? got water or rusted already?

 

later need to sacrify my lunch hour to open up the head and check!

Just got it fixed... The plastic connector is melt and cause open circuit:sweat: wat i did was just manually connect the wire with wire connector without the plastic holder... hopefully it last until i get the original connector.

 

Just wondering why the plastic would melt until so jialat:confused:

tat is ur timing chain.. to change it is expesive as they have to strip the engine

if clutch housing is spoilt.. will it result in higher fuel consumtion and loss of power.. or must i overhaul the bike?

guys.. i have a problem.. i feel tat my version s like not gd.. wanna start in d morning damn hard.. and my idling speed is 1.6 around teer when warm.. my FC quite high at abt 19 km per litre.. i have washed my card, set it, change spark p[lug, engine oil, wash my KnN filter. change my clutch plate and clutch housing. still no diifference.. a lot of S4 in d morning starr quite easy leh.. wat happerned to mine!!! HELP DUDES!!!!

Hi Super4 Bros,

Im a virgin as per riding a Super 4 is concerned...moreover im ridin a CB400 ver S...its a pretty stable engine...& im happy that i chose it over a XR400 coz im a scrambler rider...

Ok now comin to the few probs i have encountered with my babe (My Bike)...Recently after ridin to work, i was speedin at 100 for about 30 mins. when i parked my bike i cud c coolant on the floor & there was a sputtering sound in the engine. So i went down to HKL as recommended by one of my pals who rides a VTec3 i think...the guys down there asked me to leave the bike as they need to change the gaskets...& it burnt a HOLE in my pocket...cost me $380 coz they changed the gaskets, coolant & my plugs & a week before i had jz gotten my oil, air filter & my carb tuned...cost me $128...Do u think both were reasonable...Any good shops to recommend bros...or should i stick to HKL???? heard Speedzone has one in Bukit merah???

Hey bro Pyro13 i had it done at HKL & it cost me $380 they changed the head gasket & the coolant gasket, coolant & the spark plugs...Hope its not expensive & u can have it done too...but now the compression is lower...compared to b4 changin the gaskets....

Guys i think im lambastin u guys with ????s...ive a prob with my CB400 exhaust...there is a gargling sound like there's water in the exhaust. Can any1 recommend me a shop where i can get it corrected...plllllllllllllsssssssssss help ive the inspections coming soon...help bros...

Hi sorry i am a newbie here, seriously need an URGENT help here...need to ask if any of u guys here noes if i do not haf a spare key and i lost my original key for my super4(I do not haf a spare key)....can i still can a replacement key or do i reali haf to change my spare parts with a new key? cos change new parts will definitely cost me a bomb!!can anyone kind enough to gif me some advise please....thankz a million...

i am not sure motorshop which keep extra keys...btw..if u can ride to Ah boy there,there is a key maker which he can make a key out of it even u do not have the original key BUT without key...i just wonder how u gonna ride there??Unless u use lorry to lopang ur bike there..correct me if i am wrong bros and sis...

inspection wont have problems if u are just facing that if i wasnt wrong.BTW...are u facing vibrating sound..trrrr trrrr sound out from ur endcan when on a certain mid range of REVVING??

thankz for the advise....btw which ah boy shop r u referring to..?can gif me the exact address or some directions/contact no. pls?thankz alot...they reali can create a key out of the bike itselves without any physical key?i reali need a good advise now...cos i cant ride my bike at all....jus cos i dun haf key..

380 for all those u mentioned? sounds a bit expensive imo.

 

anyway if coolant leaks out might be many possiblilties, must expensive to repair is the radiator itself, change whole thing is 400+, if jus repair is 200+

hi, read thru ur stuff. jus some things to ask. is it a vtec? cause vtec comes with HISS, so u prob need to go back to honda as they'll need to program the chip inside the key.

 

is ur bike bought from the shop in installments? cause if it is, they shld have a spare key jus in case u dnt pay up, so can ask from them.

hey thanx guys...its more than the trrrrr trrrrr the mechanic said that the endcan muffler may have been punctured for a cool sound but now it gargles...imagine if u put water into ur exhaust its awful sounds like some of the older CBR 400 racing models...not S4... hi redname....ya mine is Vtec wif HISS tats why troublesome...my bike is bought and paying by instalments now...i jus bought abt 4mths ago, but guess wat?the boss asked me to change the whole system when i told him tat i lost the key!my pt of view is tat he wans to earn $$, he used to "con" me tis and tat, i spent so much $ in his shop when my bike need to change some parts etc...tat when i compared the price wif HKL is almost half cheaper for some stuffs!i oso heard frm some frenz tat the shop who sell me the bike shd haf a spare key, if nt hw can he tow away my bike and resell if i owes him instalments rite?can i reset or make a new key at honda?where can i go?can anyone help?i am sorry but i am reali deaperately need advises....thankz for all the responses so far...

call up boon siew if i wasnt wrong....tell them what happen and how can u goes about it with ur HISS keys...need people to go down with you..let me know ,maybe i go down KPO abit...kekekekek
