Hi, I would like to know if anyone encounter unstable RPM at idling? Is it normal? I noticed my bike's RPM needle will move a little during idling.. like floating up and down about 0.5 to 1mm distance in a rhythmical manner.

Practical Test Checklist:

√ Sudden and late braking

√ Faulty signal lights

√ Superb use of horn

√ Assume road belongs to father

√ Never at fault no matter what happens

√ Tailgating confidence

Result: YES! You qualify to become a Singapore car driver!

Basically few scenario

1) least problem

- spark plug problem

- air flow, syn body throttle

2) major problem

- spark plug coil. (mean no lighting up the plug in either 1 of them).

Do some check on the electric current flow for the coil to confirm or change new spark plug to test.

I forget what i was taught, I only remember what I have learned.

Which bike you referring too lah??? The single cylinder or the 4 cylinder??

In the first place... does your engine sound like it is fluctuating in tandem with the rpm fluctuation??

If its not... you got a sticky rpm indicator only, could be also the cable lacks lubrication so it is intermittently grabbing resulting in the fluctuation you see.

If your engine is really fluctuating up and down... it can just mean you need to tune the carb (idle mixture).

Anyway I might be giving you the wrong info just like the other guys coz we don't know what bike you are riding. :faint:
