Help with Suzuki GN125 purchase

Hi everyone.

 

New class 2B rider is suffering from information overload after reading through the forums and would like some easily-digestable advice.

 

I'm looking at purchasing a secondhand Suzuki GN125 from a shop. I'm very tempted to buy it because the bike is a beauty and the shopowner is allowing me to pay in two interest-free instalments. (I'm a lowly paid intern now and will only be getting regular pay in Dec.)

 

The bike is...

1. 5 years old this year

2. Good condition (everything appears nice and shiny, tyres are new, engine sounds ok)

3. 1 owner

4. 60,000km mileage

 

So I would like to know...

1. Are GN125s easy and safe to ride?

2. Is it cheap to maintain?

3. Is S$2,200 on-the-road (inclusive of third party insurance for new rider, 6 month road tax, transfer fee, stamp duty) a reasonable price to pay?

4. How much to install crash bars? (Yes, I am very auntie, I know.)

 

Really appreciate any advice you can give.
