Scrapping Bike Early

Hey all,

 

I heard that I can get a portion of my COE back if I scrap my bike early (pro-rated i guess ?).

Is this true ?

 

I have a bike with COE until 2020, but thinking to just scrap it as I rarely use it now due to my work (overseas every now and then) and the bike can't turn on every time i came back.

Unless it's in super bad condition or some cheapo bike that is very hard to sell, I think it's probably more worth your money to put it up for sale since the premium during 2010 wasn't that high anyway.

well, its an old phantom > 10 years, FZ plate. so i guess its a cheap bike bro.

coe was extended in 2015 for like $3k

If you can sell it above $1.5k, then might as well sell it. Noting that your coe isn't renewable, it might not be easy to find a buyer, but it's always worth a try.
