hi guys, my front suspension is a inverted 1.....recently when doing braking as well as going over hump, there is a slight "tick" or "click" sound emitting from the front.....sometimes it could be felt at the handlebars with slight feeling

however i've check the front area, there isn't any leaks from the fork or cracked rubber seal.....and also the front suspension seems to be moving smoothly

when i do a stationary front to back shake, the sound could be heard......my fren whom i've asked to help me locate the sound said it feels like from the front suspension

so do u guys think its the suspension or otherwise????

Thx for helping out!!!

It could come from your steering cone or brake calipers. If you check stationary...

but when moving or turning, sometimes the sound would come off.....this sound came off recently only.....dunno whether is it due to me adjusting the brake lever???

forget to mention that my bike is a 06'cbr1000

i've just went down and try to adjust back the lever but it's of no use......i've tried listening hard to find out the sound and i could only know that its coming from the upper part and its somewhere near the handlebars

and the "click" or "tick" sound could be felt through the handlebars...

so guys any idea what is it????

seems likely to be the steering cone...

try to do a simple check by jacking up the bike and lift the front wheel off the ground. then u turn yr handlebar left and right to see if it turns smoothly without any kinks or 'stucked' feeling along any part of the turning.

:goodluck:

i doubt its the steering cone coz i've tried turning the bike, everything was smooth without any kinks......

Skali come from your brake master cylinder..when u brake, the brake light switch make a click sound..

Anyway..I used to ride CBR1000RR 04..there is a 'thug' sound when u brake. when moving forward..the sound not so obvious..when u reverse and pull the brakes, the thug sound is more distinct..

Anyway..i was told by a mechanic it prolly come from the brake caliper. Whenever u use an aftermarket pads..the not so chun dimensions cos the pad to move around thus the sound when u brake..

May or may not be true..
