Till date I Have no problem with water going into my lights.I would suggest that you take them out and screw them back tightly...

Bro, heard someone say that brake pad can be mod. to fix, and is safe no problem at all. So you can safe up $40 per change of brake :smile:

 

Wondering why brake pad can cost up to $50+++ pad with gold??

I believe everyone should know what is warranty. Warranty does not cover wear and tear parts. As for labour charges, $32/hr is an Aprilia Italy set price. This is because there are certain training and special tools required to do any job, and the mechanics have been trained by an Aprilia technician from Italy. As for the brake light, please PM me your bike details and I will check it out.

If you have read my post correctly,I stated that I was not told of any warranty during my purchase of the atlantic.If you are talking about going thru special training for the Aprilia Engines,I would have agree with you,No questions aked,But here I am talking about Changing Of the front BRAKE PAD,you need to go thru Special Training for that?Then What about those Mech working in the other work shops? Are you saying that they did not go for the Training ,how to change the Aprilia Brake Pads,therefore they wont know how to do it?For you info,I bought the Front Brake Pad from Mah Pte at $57 and when to A motor shop to get it fixed for $5,and its still working well,do the calculations....$5 to change outside and $32/hr to change in Mah Pte!

My Next question is,What if my Bike were to be there for 3 hours,to change the Brake pad,how will I be Charge for the Labour cost? 3x $32= $96..

And why most of us were not told of the 2 year warranty?

Dont get the wrong Idea,I love my Atlantic.

Btw,what kind of special tools do your mech need to Change the front brake pad that the shop that I went to didn't? I am very curious to know,so Please Enlighten me.Thanks.

The brake pads are from Aprilia Italy, and are Aprilia original parts. It is the price given to us, and quality plays an important part. We HAVE to sell Aprilia original parts, not OEM parts, thus the pricing. This is the responsibility of all authorised workshops.

 

As for labour charges, the time only starts when the mechanic starts work on your bike. Start time and end time are all time stamped onto your jobsheet so don't worry you will not be cheated.

There is anything that I would like to Clarify,YOu says that the Mechs are being train by the Aprilia and to use special tool to do the Aprilia bikes,Therefore you were told to charge labour at $32/hr.So may I asked if that the case,then Why when I went down for my 1st free(so called) servicing,I was charge $50plus,cant remember the exact figures? I was told that only the Labour charge is free,I would have to purchase the oil and filter,and when I ask,I was told that the labour charge was $10,the actual cost was actually $60plus minus the $10,therefore I pay only $50.So how how you are charging us$32/hr for the labour now?Is it only recently ,you guys have change all to the SPecial tools,and only been Trained recently?

Not Proper? If you are not ready for any Question "asked" here, you should not be here at the first place. All of us like ours scooter, we dun ready care what brand, but we do care about after owed the bike.

 

It is just an Scooter of class 2b, who will wanted to pay such high cost for just a pair of brakes and even high labour charge. If it is 1000cc, i agreed.

 

In this case, the sales will only drop.

The mirror can be fixed and will be done FOC. Why would I want to trick you to come down to my office? If you want to gather all your riders and we will try to solve your problem 1 by 1. Or would you prefer we organize a meet and talk session? We will provide food and drinks and we can get feedback and you get results.

I didnt say that you would trick me.All I am asking for is some anwers. I will try to contact the rest of the Apilia Scooter riders and get their feed back.What about those that bought their Atlantic from Dexing? or is it only for those that bought from Mah Pte?I would prefer to have a meet and talk sessions,but at a neutral location.

It would do no good answering over the forum, as words are often misinterperated. Give me some time and I will organise something. We will send out invitations. There is no need to talk about neutral locations, unless you have a bone to grind, and the best place is my office as all my tools, mechanics and materials are here, and there is ample parking space.

My bike no. is FX 5887 C bought in late Jan 04.

 

My Incident report:

The Pan european manager know abt my case too... Two days after my purchase, i discovered that water is actually sipping in into my tail light, instrument, signal lights and my head lights after rains. Eventually, Jorge got my head light replaced. And my mirror actually had some maufacturers defects and was eventually being change to a losen one... I told the mech. abt it and they took clothe and wires to tighten them for me... At first, i didn't notice it until when i got home and realised that they did it for me in such a bad workmanship. And i don't think that aprilia's company trained them to be like this. As for my tail light, they use silicon to glue up the cover of my signal lights. And if in future, if my tail and signal lights gets fused, how am i gonna change them?? Mr Mah i hope that u can understand.. From a good bike to a rat bike, i trust u guys that u will do me a good job but in the end u guys left me a very bad impression... great that Mr Mah or his representatives from Mah is bothered to activate an account here in the forum to understand the Aprilla riders' problems and encounters.

 

hope the rest of the bike bike shops will do the same :D

yah.. i hope that u, MR Mah, will do something fast... And the previous 3 times i go over to ur place nothing has been done.. pls do something abt it... As long as my bike warranty is ard and u can act fast, i don't think that there should be a problem in future... And one more thing.. can i install a on/off switch on my bike? becoz the batt. is not a top performance batt. therefore it will cause problem to start whenever i left my bike non-operating of a few days. if yes pls give me the green light.. thanks...

I am not complaning about the price of the Brake pads,I am just asking about how am I going to be charge for the labour,Since its charge only when the start doing the bike,and stamp on the job sheet,if it's only15 mins?how?
