I'm very new to scooters.

Besides the usual servicing (EO/sparkplug), what else must I look out for?

With regards to wear and tear on the belt, rollers & u-shoe, it's possible to check them visually? If so, how much would a shop charge just to check?

What's the recommended tyre pressure for the Atlantic?

Thanks in advance.

No one interested to help

Besides the usual servicing (EO/sparkplug),

u also need to monitor the coolant level, change of transmission oil, engine oil filter etc etc. Please refer to the maintenance chart in the user manual.

You will have to remove the cover of the variator block to inspect. Charges varies among shops. Most of us change this 3 items every 12000km to 15000km.

What's the recommended tyre pressure for the Atlantic?

With pillion, 220 for front and 240 for rear.

There is a guide in the glove compartment you can refer to.

Dun

I had been riding a 2nd hand Atlantics for the past 4 months but after reading all the previous threads by bros here. I can't achieve my bike till 200km with full tanks, only best records of 150km. Any bros here can help what things that can look in to get better consumption. Thanks in advance.

kingfisher73: Atlantic petrol tank is slightly more than 10L. Since my fuel indicator is spoilt, I tend not to take the risk and pump petrol at usually 150km-160km. If my memory serves me correctly, on average I pump in 7-8L of petrol. I guess mine should be able to go up till 200km with no problem. My riding style is usually rabbit jump starts from traffic light, however mostly expressway riding. Perhaps you need to service your bike?

There are few things that can affects the overall fuel consumption

  1. Tire pressure - make sure they are properly inflated
  2. Engine oil - when was the last time you change it
  3. Riding habit - hard initial acceleration will not help in this case
  4. City riding (lots of stop and start) - will consume more fuel
  5. Riding with pillion - will also reduce the litre per Km

I ride on the expressway 95% of the time and my is roughly 32Km/L. I also practise top up the petrol after every 200Km travelled.

Wow. I didn't know that kind of FC possible with the Atlantic. I think by my estimate, the best mileage I can obtain is 25km/L.

My "feather" weight of 55Kg might explained the high mileage :cheeky:
