seriously i dunno which model is my AA, but i think its 2004 cos COE expire in 2015. I was comtemplating for which scooter to settle for previously and finally decided for the AA over X9 for the looks. I viewed quite a number of X9 as well and the conditions couldnt be compared to the altantic that i am riding now as well. Spare part prices and servicing price should be the similar i suppose. But for AA original parts they are pretty expensive. I got one side mirror replaced for $100. I heard from a bro riding x9 evo that his will cost 200 plus cos it got led signal as well. 2b scooter to 2b bikes i suppose the servicing might cost a bit more ( comparing my previous phantom to my current AA)

after selling away my AA , I am so tempted to get another scooter .

fellow sportcity owners

can someone provide the price guide for wear & tear items like

1. maxxis front & rear tires

2.water pump

3.rectifier

hi guys. been ages since i last rode. guess almost 10yrs.

Anyway got myself a 2nd hand AA about coming 3yrs old yesterday.

Decided to do a full service as odo abt 46000km.

Send in to my long ago old workshop at AMK ave 10.

Observed the followings from my mechanic.

Quite a number of jobs to be done. He commented that the

ride had been poorly taken care of and numerous parts are either

damaged, going to be damaged or needs to be replaced/serviced.

So far the damage to my wallet is $630. Still need replace the rear wheel ball bearings. The bike had gone thru ER and currently proceeding to ICU.

I looked at the areas of concerned and observed those claims t0 be true. He mentioned that this bike needs to be routinely serviced and taken care so that all these wear and tears + defects would not recur so often or prematurely. I can only feel sad that i've bought a wounded AA but i hope after this ICU which will take afew days job + a new Spray Job as thr's visible scratches on the sides due to "Buang" and the paintwork on he bike looks years beyond its age it would do justice to it's heritage.

Cheers guys...

Another AA owner coming soon.

*By the way any recommendation on my spray job colours? Im tinking maybe Bright Chili Red or Black???

Hi,

Welcome to the AA family.

Just 1 point, if your bike is going 3 years old. I am assuming a FBA plate. Think the odo reading should be in miles and not km. If I am not wrong, all AA after 2004 odo are in miles. How to tell the difference, if your speedo got miles per hour and km per hour, most likely your odo would be in miles, if your speedo only got km per hour, your odo would be in km.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

OIC. Tks bro. Looks like the AA had been rode hard and furious over the past 2yr+. Yup... Its a FBA plate. I expect the condition to have been better.

Just took the bike out of ICU today and rode home on the SLE. Travelled about 90km. Maybe too long no ride liaoz. Uncomfortable with the strong wind.

Still need to replace the Brake Pump which's gonna cost a Bomb! Decided not to go for the paint job as the damage alr exceeds 1k...

Sorry to hear that. Glad that it is now on the road.

Care to share with me what is wrong with your brake pump? I had brake pump problems before too, but no need to change the whole pump. Thus it is way much cheaper.

Its loose. And it makes funny noises when riding/braking.

The mechanic says it wont kill but its bad for the brake pads.

Dunno say what uneven wear/premature wear.

He say brand new cost 400+. 2nd hand 200+

I say i ride 1st currently and consider later.

He say he did a minor mod to prop it up alittle.

Not quite sure what he meant as im new to AA

The problem I had with my brake is that my brake lever went soft and braking becomes ineffective. My mechanic changes the piston assembly of my brake pump. After that everything is as good as new. The costs is below $100, sorry but me cant remember the exact cost.

Hopes this helps.

I had change mine before.

There are 2 choices from my knowledge.

You can go for the orginial brake disc which can be bought from Mah Pte Ltd. Not sure if they have it in stock. It will cost about $400++, just the disc(installation not included) if me remember correctly.

Or you can try to get EBC brake disc for AA. It should cost abt $200++, just the disc(installation not included) if me remember correctly.

Hopes this helps.

brake disc are so expensive.. so brake disc are not universal stuff ? I saw that phantom brake disc is like only 70 bucks, so there is a diff specification for different model of bike? What about those ppl who change their brake disc to those flower design, or even upgrade the brake disc size?

I just changed both front and rear brake discs for my AA to EBC recently. $190 each, inclusive of labour charge.
