Well I guess the quality of the product does matter. My alarm did not such so much juice. Been haven the alarm installed on my previous S4 for more than 2 years and the battery is still fine.

Now on a GSR and the battery is still OK.

Good quality battery definitely gets better mileage ..................

When riding tonight, i suddenly felt a sudden surge of heat at my left thigh where my bike electricals are, when i glanced at my voltmeter it was dancing left and right but my lights were still fine. It would suddenly show very low volatge for awhile and then suddenly dance to the other extreme the next moment.

When i parked up to investigate, the electronics failed, lights were weak and starter cranked alot and refused to start. Left it alone for a minute and tried again, and it worked fine... lights were bright again and bike started immediately.

Based on the following symptoms, i suspect:

1. Wiring faulty (since the alarm was installed)

2. Battery Dying (have to get independent reading to confirm)

3. Alarm system blown and interfering with electronics (since it works intermittently now, then again it may be because of first two reasons)

4. Charging system faulty (Headlight brightness vary as voltmeter reading varies)

Will bring bike to workshop to check it out tmr. What do you guys think?

I don't think the alarm uses up much of the battery.Unless it keeps sounding every 5 minutes otherwise it only needs to power up 1 LED indicator.Been using bike alarms on my past 4 bikes till my current kup.No alarm-battery related problems.

Opened up my bike this morning to troubleshoot, it turns out the wiring was loose on one terminal. A little tightening and it works fine. Now just seeing if my battery can hold a charge long enough.

Also adjusted idling speed to higher RPM as it was under charging.
