hey i was wondering if there is anyway to make the throttle turn easier? like with less force? im wondering if aftermarket grips affect this also.

now my throttle seems like abit stiff to turn and must actually use some strength. wondering if there is anything that can be done. thanks!

was facing the same prob. changed throttle cable and oiled the throttle grip area before chaging grips  worked for me.

Try to apply some lubricant on the cables... You know the oil ppl use on sewing machine, tat is one good lubricant but don't put too much ok...

If not u can to drop by any 7/11 or pharmacy n get the KY jelly from DUREX tat too can work wonderfully ...(Joking)

Good luck.

The new grip is too far in on the throttle tube and therefore rubbing against the throttle wheel housing. Pull the grip outwards till there is a slight separation between the rubber grip flange and throttle wheel housing.

hm, thanks guys! i went to my mech to check it out and he told me that actually its not stiff.. just that i had too much freeplay so i thought it was difficult to turn. he adjusted it for me and its much better now!

however, im not sure by what u mean when u say to lube the throttle cabe. how to do that leh?

wats the point of adjusting the nut on the throttle cable near the throttle? adjusting freeplay or adjusting stiffness?

Freeplay.. its picking up the slack.

Anyway stiffness is resistance to turning and has got nothing to do with too much free play which is cable slack.

so if i wan to lessen freeplay shd i adjust the nut away from throttle or towards throttle?

The throttle cable adjuster consists of 2 threaded portions that can be screwed into each other. The 2 threaded portions are part of the outer conduit in which the actual throttle cable runs.

The throttle cable is of a fixed length. The length of the conduit can be adjusted.

Turning the threaded portions into each other makes the throttle cable longer than the conduit... more play. Turning the threaded portions apart.. takes up the slack and makes the throttle play less.

If turning in or out of the adjuster has no effect on picking up the slack..or giving it some play... the connectors at the carb itself needs to be adjusted.
