Hi guys,

I need some (urgent) advice, we made the move to SIN around 3 months ago and unfortunately my moving company told me it is almost impossible to register my bike in Singapore. They came up with all sorts of excuses, to expensive, will never pass the road inspection etc…..

Has anyone done this before? I've seen so many old bikes hitting the road every day so there must be a possibility to import my bike without burning a hole in my pocket.

The bike was manufactured 2002, it is a Ducati 748r with lots of mods (stock parts are available).

Thanks

re-stocking, not an issue just wonder who can give me thumbs up and if possible a figure so I can make up my mind if achievable. I can either spend 10.000 SGD buying something locally or having my bike in SIN and fun.

If I'm not wrong you can only import a bike which is less than 3years old.

This basically summarizes everything but is there anyone who has done it before?

A certificate of compliance with the emission

standard issued by the vehicle manufacturer or LTA/NEA recognized overseas vehicle test

laboratories (see Annex A) must be produced, a sample of which is attached at Annex B.

If I cant get the test from manufacturer or the recognized list any alternatives? The only recognized labs in US are in CA only.

Have you looked at this post here? I'd say that's pretty darned detailed, probably the best straight up guide you'll get.

As for the testing, probably no other alternatives, they've listed the options. Well, it looks like a good summer for a road trip tho, no? ;)
