HI all,

Recently, I got service my bike. My bike is 2 stroke bike and old one.

I just rode a short distance and i found out the temperature increase

very fast. Could due to engine old. Or the raditor is old, need to service

or coolant use is no good.... Any advise out there.....tks.

Btw ride is TZR.

i suggest u rembat ya throttle ... do a plug chop .. rev in all gears till maximum .. then hit the kill switch ... let ya bike cool down a while then check the spark plug .. if the color is a lil white then runnin too lean .. go get it fix quick ok ..

Wanwan,

Could it be due to my spark plug. Recently after service my carb, i change to

BR9ES. Not sure previously use which one. My guess could to be BR8ES.

Anyw is the diff bet BR9ES and BR8ES. Some how i got the feel the plug

could be related to the temperature issues. But then i might be wrong....

Check your radiator if the impeller is doing its job.

1.Unscrew the radiator cap (WHEN THE BIKE IS COOLED DOWN!)

2.Start the bike

3.Look into the radiator. The coolant should be swishing by now. Otherwise, its not doing its job.

4.Change your coolant. Or, your coolant level might have dropped.

5.Sparkplug does not cause that. BR8 is the normal one. BR9 is a colder plug head while BR7 is a hotter plug head.

6.Your bike ate too much chilli for dinner.

7.Good luck.

brown gd color so ya bike not runnin lean .. perhaps ya cooling system or leaking compression ...

Oh yeah forgot to asked, wanwan, so wad if the to lean stuff??? wads tat which makes it too lean any way u're toking abt the petrol n 2t rite?? or isit the petrol n the air intake??? although i think is the petrol n air intake but jz asked for security ^^ jz case i mistaken.. haha..

its the air and fuel mixture. too lean and ur bike will be very "light"..

but generates more heat.

and vice versa.

quite tedious to learn these.. but it really is a big thing for carb bikes.

if im nt wrong, after a servicing our radiator should be hotter due to the better heat conduction? the temp meter is reading temp from our radiator or coolant i think*. It works in that way for my old sp, i feel more heat from the radiator after a change of coolant and stuff. but still the temp reading shouldnt be above 3/4 on normal riding, unless u ride like me, que behind cars

if u oways on the move ya temp seldom rises .... If ya ride slow for a few mins its normal for our bikes temp to increase on 2 stroke

Premix wit ya 2t must be accurate coz too litle 2t doesnt lubriactes ya piston and stuff makes it too lean ... Too much 2t not too gd either coz build more carbon so more servicing of valve... bout air and petrol intake is easy . I summarise it a lil ... Like 85percent air 15 percent petrol to form a gd mixture to get it ignited ... more air too lean and more petrol too rich .. a bit richer is better to be safe lor ...

woo, my mechanic say my bike the hotter the better its performance.. LOL...

but not too lean so i think its okay ba.. HAHA!! thx joe..

Thx barefoot, U haf ur point there... Not really 3/4 i'm experiencing but maybe half... but now is better alrdy.. not as bad as the day after service.. NO idea y thou.. LOL.. tat time when i'm experiencing those hot is tat the temp metre hitting around 1/3 of the krr150 metre.. n my kick start bar is burning around lets say u let ur bike stay under the sun at 11.30am for half an hr... around tat temperature...:dozed:

maybe i ride slow ba.. min speed is like 70kph...

Wanwan, do u tune ur own bike???? u know alot abt this kind of details stuff wor... ^^

not really .. but i browse info on the net and study them coz i dun believe wat mechanics say coz they manipulate u at times ... U ride hotter cld lead to detonation ...

so whats the best ratio of air & fuel mixture?

both the same ratio or?

more air will be running way too lean?

and more fuel will be running way too rich?

hmmmms. . . . .

air/fuel ratio depends on ya jets also ... no mechanic unless hes ya gd fren wld tune for u coz its too troublesome to tune and changing jets ... u juz look at ya spark plugs will do .. too black is too rich and too white is too lean ...
