SBF Majesty 250/400 Cafe 2009 / 2010

Hi guys! Do your know what's the riding population of the Majesty 400 on our roads?? I think it's a rare model, as after riding for a few months, I only saw one white color, FBF registered.

 

Am riding a Kymco DownTown 125i. But already thinking of my next scooter when I get my 2A license.

 

Had thought of the Kymco Xciting 400 (production from July/ August, arrives in Singapore, ETA Sept-Oct). But Xciting is too sporty for me (riding position, and the underseat storage isn't great - 1 Full face helmet, a set of gloves and squeeze a set of raincoat and that's it), and it won't be cheap (my own guesstimate is around S$14.5k OTR). There won't be 2nd hand units around too, as it's still new.

 

Then had initially considered the SYM MaxSYM400i. But having seen the bike, though it looks great (styling and road presence/ size wise), the build quality irks me. Plus having read MaxSym thread, seems to have a few problems (owners have to leave it at the workshop for days to get it rectified), despite it being new. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand unit (1.5yrs old targeting a sale price of $9k). Brand new, it retails for OTR S$13.8k. But I don't have the slightest trust in SYM products. Or else I'd be riding the SYM GTS200 now rather than Kymco DownTown 125i. Of course, some owners have it fine so far, but that just shows the poor QC SYM has.

 

So now, I'm considering a used Majesty 400 or Burgy 400 (K7 and above) - Budget of below $10k.

 

I like the same underseat storage of the Majesty as me DownTown (storage throughout the underseat).

 

Won't be considering the SW400 as it's too big, and heavy, and expensive (selling price wise and servicing/ parts).

 

Truly, Japanese bike are still the best choice on road especially Yamaha majestic 250/400 , the under seat compartment space are damn big enough for 2 full face helmet, riding it is comfort and so far never really give major problem, other than regular servicing...... Simply love the Japan ride so much!!!!

Hi. A Question here for those riding majesty 250. Are your bikes normally so low that they will scrape the underbelly when u cross normal humps? Cos i'm looking to buy a 2nd hand one but those that i have viewed seems to have had so much done to the underbelly that the frame for the main stand is broken?

In a way yes. but if you go slow, then it ok. for those high hump, I usually put my feet down n go really slow.

anyone, can you show me how to replace the battery at the rear? i googled it and could not find anything to show how to disassemble the cowling and the other part so as to access the battery.
