hi guyz guess i need some help here.

i've been experiencing this problem for quite sumtym. my front brakes hav not been dat strong when i squeeze the lever. this results in further braking distance. worst wen i'm at a high speed..n later i found out dat my disc rotor is sumhw oily.. wat is the real problem here?

should i go for bleeding only? change brake pads? service caliper? or change the brake hose?

thanks in advance..

bro, i suggest to go for servicing of caliper, it mite be the o-ring of one or more of the brake pistons has worn out, or there is a puncture on the brake hose(i.e cracking)...

is the oil level in your brake fluid reservoir dropping? If yes, the above might be the case, if not, do trace for the source of the leak...piece of advise, try not to ride ur bike until the prob is solved...its all in the name of safety bro...

try cleaning it with Brake Cleaner spray first. If the oily residue comes back, you have a leak at the pistons' seals.

I don't think the brake hose has any cuts or cracked. The high pressure build up within the hose would have ruptured it and send brake fluid everywhere. Which basically means totally no braking.

If your brakes has not been serviced for a few years, it's a good time to have the pistons all popped out and washed. You can check for corrosion or pittings of the bores of the calipers and cleaned them out. Make sure whoever that's handling your calipers and pistons is very careful about the seals. You DO NOT have change an undamaged seal. Don't let the shop charge you extra unnecessarily because the entire set of seals is not exactly cheap.
