Try this temporary fix:

[1] Force quit that "groupmanager.ex" file.

To do this, open Task Manager, find that file on that list, select it, and press [End Task]

[2] Disable that offending program from starting up the next time you reboot your computer. This requires a little work on your part.

To do this, you will need to use the Microsoft System Configuration tool.

Open your Start menu and type this into your "Start Search" box:

msconfig

When you do that, the Start menu will display "
msconfig.exe
" at the top.

Right click on it when it appears and select "Run As Administrator"

In the System Configuration tool, go through the items in the "Command" column. If you see any item on that list that has the words groupmanager.ex or Group Manager, remove the tick-mark next to it.

(pardon me, please ignore the red circle)

After all these have been done, do an anti-virus scan, and then an anti-spyware scan.

Personal recommendation for anti-spyware: Spybot Search & Destroy

[1] First and foremost, notice that you're using AVG and McAfee. Both are antivirus software.

I'd recommend that you uninstall one of them; that's because two antivirus software co-existing on a computer will cause Windows to have problems.

[2] If you scanned your computer with an up-to-date antivirus program and an antispyware program -- but both of them did not find anything suspicious, I'm guessing the problem lies with one of the applications that you've installed that came bundled with groupmanager.ex.

Since I do not know where this file came from (google didn't help too) what I had you do is to simply disable the offending groupmanager.ex since it was causing your computer to not shutdown properly.

However, it's still listed there though if for some reason a program can't work properly, you can at your discretion re-enable it. Or better still, if you find out which program is dependent on that file (i.e. gives out error messages with "groupmanager.ex" in it), go and un-install that annoying program from the computer.

Excuse me for using bits and pieces of technical lingo here. Software and OS problems usually require a high level of expertise :)

What you can do is to begin sharpening your pitchfork, head down to the Ad0be (Singapore) office in Suntec City the next day, and demand to see the boss for an answer.

Ok, so maybe that's not a good thing to do. But that is what I'll do when I'm unhappy with my products

Anyways, a Microsoft MVP by the name of Ramesh has suggested this fix on his website:

Before I give you the link, I must warn you first and foremost that whenever you attempt to fix the computer by following online guides that require you to play around with Windows Registry, you are doing this on your own peril.

At the end of the day, it's better to seek help from a professional IT person who will be by your side, or to give Adobe a call.

But if you're still interested, here's the link:

The file that you need to download is the one that says "exe".

Find file location, usually C:\Program Files\Crack

Restart computer in Safe Mode

Open file location

Right click and select Delete (No permissions required}

Restart computer normally. File should no longer appear in Program Files.

I have been free of this pest for over a week now.

Hope this helps!
