It is normal.

Bear in mind that the whole rear engine, transmission and exhaust are being supported to the frame by means of arm linkages. Both end of this linkages have rubber built into them to absorb vibration.

This of course come at the price scoot of that separated feeling only when going over very uneven road especially when the front wheel and the rear wheel are on different gradient. Meaning when the front wheel is going over an uneven surface sloping to left/right and the rear wheel is on flat surface or the front wheel is going over an uneven surface sloping left or right and the rear wheel is sloping to the left or right opposing to the front.

The feeling of the scoot splitting is most obvious in the latter scenario.

Silverwing will have this effect during cornering.

So far i have no problems leaning and cornering on even surfaces.

When cornering on uneven surfaces, I can feel the scoot start to wobble telling me surface not safe for cornering.

If you want to feel the effect, find a vertical split line running along the road. Ride along the split line and while you try to ride in a straight line along the split line the front wheel and rear wheel will most likely move to left and right of the line and you will feel that front and rear split effect.

Split road I meant are those road like one side is new/resurfaced road and the other is the old road. You know thise road where they dig dig dig then just put some tarmac and roll over leaving it some parts new some part old.

Most scooter will have this effect except those that are built with the engine connected to the frame like the T-max.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Parotae! Yes u are so right abt the effect on vertical split line. I did notice that when I first ride the bike but didn't really bothers me because I was just squeezing between cars at low speed. But the cornering encounter was like I said 'balls-shrinking' :/

today just went to MS for downtown 300i servicing, changed engine oil x 1 bottle $22, gear oil $8, NGK spark plug $15, total $45. Noticed that NGK spark plug for DT 300i has increase to $15, can anyone comment on this servicing pricing?

Did you ask them why the increase in price of the spark plug?

Anyway what's your mileage when you change spark plug?

Thanks alot Bike Yong for directing. I just got my DT200i and still getting used to a scooter. I must say the seat is pretty high. Anyway to trim down the seat? I'm fairly short.

There are a few techniques. When stopping, shift your butt to the front of the seat a bit. When move off shift back for comfort. If you try to sit back and try and touch the floor, even i have to tip toes. and it look funny too like an 'S' shape curving from body to the legs.

You can lean the scoot more to the side of the leg on the road. Like your butt is off the seat a bit to the side you are leaning.

Play around, you know what i mean better.

The seat is not high, it's wide. Seat nearer to the front when stopping or play around to find your sweet spot.

Any recommendations for spectacles friendly helmets?

Most open faced helmets are ok. Unless you want to have a full face. Most of us will have straight legs specs for easier removal. Else like most be specs rider here get a flip up like the Shoei Multitec or Neo tec.
