Here in the UK we get the Kenda brand stock tyres, they are not that bad actually can last very long 20,000 km. The problem that they have is that they take a while to warm up and the rear can be very slippery when cold or heavy breaking.

I have heard a lot of good reviews for the Pirelli Diablo, I will go for them on my third service at 15,000 km. Here is a link for them:

Front: http://www.tyretectrading.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=723

Rear: http://www.tyretectrading.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=1391

Wait a minute. You're British in a Singapore forum??

Haha.

Well, the same is for whatever tyres I'm on..... squirmish under braking, takes a while to warm up.

I may go down next week should I have the time to LAB to change.

Ta Boleh Tahan already.... Haha.

The stock tyres. Different ppl, different preferences.

Just change and see whether you like the other tyres or not.

I was already wondering why he keep referring to Kymco UK......lol

Anyway, you are welcome to join us here to talk. ;)

Think ppl will slowly pick up the DT300 or even the Xciting 300 as this is a class of bike normally dominated by the Japs and the Italians.

Kymco is still a new brand mah. Haha.

Next year, with the XCT and Xciting and Grand Dink, hopefully, sales will improve!

The community here is also very small. Imagine Motorsports selling a handful of bikes each month only.

DT and Xciting aren't all the sales figures. I've seen the Like 200i, Dink 180cc, etc..... haha.

At the rate Kymco are selling in Singapore by 2013 I think the workshop cannot make it Liao. Too cramp.

One scoot at back lane, 2 scoot in workshop (excluding 5 inside may be more that is dismantled and immobilized) and 2 scoot outside(together with other immobilised scoot)cannot move already even for people. Current 4 Technician at ubi I think cause that's all I saw when there a few times.

If bigger and nicer looking scoot are being bought , people owning this scoot has a certain expectation like they might want to see a workshop that is presentable. Ubi one a bit huh!

I was like expecting a clean place like Macpherson. Happily riding a 2A scoot to service then suddenly see the place felt like I bought a low class scooter. All the pride of riding a 2A nice looking scoot and wear nice nice all go down the drain. The image of owning Kymco all gone. Just like road side scoot ha ha :D

That's true! But all the other workshops same thing leah.... Especially around that area too...

@juanpauk

Yeah, now I remembered. Yeah the fuely webby.

Sorry, I did not mention about you being in the UK :p

Everyone was like huh ha ha.

I have enquire from the boss that the ECU thingy in Spain and if needed is using the LEA7 ECU to swap. I was like huh, isn't the fuel mapping different with the new 10 holes injector?

The previous model are using 4 hole injector and just a wee bit slower.

Yup, all road side workshop looking. But some if you look inside, very clean and presentable, Have to admit they are only selling bikes not repairing.

What I am saying is if the workshop nice, the status of owning and going back to service upgraded a bit mah. I take care of my scoot very well, would not like to see extra particles going inside the engine beside engine oil ha ha. Everything done on the floor. Boss says a hoist(there is no hoist here) for jacking/bring the scoot up and down not only take up space and not necessary.

Agent try not to look like road side workshop, unlike privately owned business. Imagine a privately owned motorshop that have a better standard than the agent. There are dirty workshop that do a good job, no dispute over that. It's like drinking dirty coffee, very nice very tasty but cups never wash, would you still patronize it? I believe there will still be people patronizing it, just not me.

Being a cheaper alternative to Japanese scoot does not automatically give excuse for the technician to do a shabby job and more often than not that's how the technician feel. Have a standard environment and the standard and quality will hopefully follow. It's still the mentality of the technician to decided what kind of quality they want to provide. A clean and organize workshop is a good place to start.

On top of that, those who buy bigger cc scooter are more or less have a certain expectation on standard and quality. For them to try or buy a Kymco is something out of the norm since those who only swore to ride only Japanese bike because of the quality. So if Kymco thinks that they are doing buyer a favor by providing a cheaper alternative rather than a presentable workshop, good luck to them. End of the day it's not the bike that get the service, it's the customer :)

Whoa! 10 holes injector VS 4 holes?

Actually performance wise, only a bit more.... There's ultimately a physical limit to the cylinder volume.

But it'll definitely burn cleaner! And improve the fuel economy!

This is what I know: a Spanish guy bought his bike on the 21st Sept 2011 and from day 1 he noticed that between 4000 and 5000 revs, the bike was giving him "shakes = literal translation" but we can call it Twilight DEAD Zone.

They replaced his ECU for a brand new model, they took his chassis number into account to give him an unit like for like. He confirmed that the replacement was not the old/previous version ECU. All this information and solution was provided by Kymco Spain to his mechanics, if you want to go further here is the email: info@kymco.es . Hassle them, at the end of the day is a global company, clearly they have accepted that there is a problem and also have a solution for it.

Here is a link to the 17 pages thread, you can reference post number: #76348 which explains what I said above.

http://forokymco.es/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=208&id=57469&limit=15&limitstart=195&Itemid=145#76348

My bike was assembled somewhere around March 2011 using the date stamp on the clutch as a reference and does not present the loss of power issue just clutch + bell problems, I think yours (Parotae) is coming from a newer batch like the Spanish guy.

Lol!

4 holes injector = 30km/l

10 holes injector = 25km/l

Totally no economy.

Thanks Juanpauk for the very detailed description and information. Will take a look into it and decide on what action to take. Mine is the July batch. Was told parts are scarce due to the Japanese flood, and production parts from Japan comes in limited quantity hence limited batch of Downtown supplied and delivered. For all I know they could be reusing whatevr is available or just improvise :p (speculating here)

From Xiao_Mashi?

Xciting 300 is very reliable and so I was told by an uncle when I was at Ubi workshop. He is not an owner of the xciting though. Just that his friend did not experience any. His on the other hand is problematic.

Oh yes, if I over heard correctly.

IF that's the case, it could mean the injectors are injecting more than what the cylinder can manage.

I don't know lah. Just saying.... Haha.

As for the Grand Dink, my dad may consider one after his retirement. He likes the flat floor. Haha.

Funny, found my scoot struggling to hit 120km/h from 100km/h :(

My DT125i can only do that with aid from tail-wind.

I'm really looking forward to the next Xciting 400 with parking brakes.

That's really useful. Even though I don't advocate parking on slopes [if that was even possible in the first place], on slight inclines, it's really useful! At least I don't get a chance to hurt me hand..... Haha.
