For clutch, I would say slippage. High rpm but scoot not accelerating.

Usually it's very lasting. I did not change clutch for skipper even at 80,000km.

Besides, if it's wearing out the mech would have recommend you to change it.

For Variator, I've change once on the skipper. Maybe due to wrong installation of roller (the Variator sides got worn out like a sharpen blade.

For rollers, rpm will be higher than usual. Eg if you ride 80km/h on the same road everyday at 5000rpm and one day you notice that it run 5400rpm, 400rpm more than usual constantly, it's a sign that the rollers are worn.

All the above issues would have been rectified by a good mech before the wear gets worst. Unless of course you think that local motor shop trying to earn your money will recommend you to change it as to avoid halfway between services wear. Are you going to change because you think they are going to earn your money like the engine oil issue or tell them you will use it to the full mileage then change?

Say your belt can last 18000km, you go service at 15000km mileage. Mech say change belt, you say he trying to earn your money besides can still for another 3000km. So will you change the belt at 18000km or at the next service at 20,000km?

Posted

No lah. I'll change when something isn't right.

HMM..... so far it's alright. Will monitor the situation.

After the change to Metzeler, the fuel consumption drop to 30km/L....

Pumped 10.37L this early morning, traveled 310km.

Oh.... I'm just curious for 300cc riders. What are ur respective rpm at these speeds?

Mine is as follows:

80kph: 5-6k rpm

90kph: 6-7k rpm

100kph: 7-8k rpm

120kph: 9k rpm abv.... Haha

I gave a range cos min rpm is done going downhill. Max rpm is going on flat ground.

I realize Shad boxes are not really regularly shaped.

I prefer the Givi ones, that are more rectangular in shape.

My next box will probably be Givi....

Yup, the Givi 45 felt bigger than my SH48. Givi shape is more boxy and the corners can squeez somemore things. With Shad is like the corner can't even squeeze a rat ha ha.

Yeap. Totally agree.

Anyways, what other box manufacturers are there?

Kappa, Givi, Shad.... What else?

Anyways, speaking about my BMW Scooter aim, PML will only launch the scooters 3rd Quarter of 2012....

Price will be roughly from $28k for C600 and over $30k for the C650GT....

Considering the outgoing T-Max 499cc goes from $20k and $21.4k ABS, SilverWing 400 from $19k,

Its gonna be a huge seller I reckon!!

The new T-Max has 530cc engine and will probably go from $23-25k??

Sticking to cheaper case, Hepco & Becker cost a bomb.

Then again, the coolcase is plastic but cost a lot at Chiap Lee.

I was looking at a white with smoked lens case about 30liters cost $199.

BMW scooter? Outta my league.

Enjoy your expensive scooter then.

By then your only option is Hepco & Becker case.

Aiya, it'll also be outta my league.

MyRoad 700i is a good alternative at a much more sticker friendlier price of $19.5k.... Haha

Anyways, I'm starting to hear some abnormal noises from the DT125i.... something like lose bearings.

And my set of Metzeler tires are showing white wear marks liao. Haha. Seems like tires with more grip won't last long.

wow this thread is really active, I am thinking of changing to a scooter and read the thread from page 1 to 20. took me 2 days to read and read the review.

Any problem with the fuel pump and other engine issues, seems like this bike is fine. I read review about Yamaha TMAX, they have fuel pump issues. Piaggio bike also have a lot of problems.

Currently riding yamaha YZF R15, get bored after 2 years. Can't put anything riding a 2B sportsbike. :(

Get wiser as each day passes...

So you can change different tires without waiting too long.

Diablo next? ha ha

Read from the T-Max thread, that Pirelli Diablo tires are horrible in the wet. So I'll skip that.

Perhaps, my next set of tires will be the Dunlop ones lorh.....$260 for both front and rear.

How's Shinko? Perhaps I'll try that too.....

Haha. Kymco is still a niche brand here in Singapore.

For 2B, the SYM GTS 200 is the most dominant. But that uses a carburettor..... And most dealers don't bring in the GTS125 which uses fuel injection, and is more expensive than the GTS200. The GTS has been on our roads for many years already, and was the initial maxi-scooter that I wanted to get [a used YR2004/5 one for $3-4k]. But my dad bought me a Kymco DT125i brand new instead.

And I haven't looked backed since!

I believe me and TS are the only few DT125i on the roads.

Sava next?

http://www.savatech.eu/?Itemid=80

Lower rolling resistance means harder compound?

120/80 14"

150/70 13"

The MC38 MaxScoot looks good, but don't have the DT size.

Only the MC28 Diamond is suitable, but that doesn't look good - like Michellin Pilot Sport SC: Very wide spacing between treads - which means poor performance in the wet.

I'll stick to something of the Metzeler's performance or something better.

Wow, didn't realize the T-max has issues too. Was hoping to change to that after I've got my class 2. Looks like SW has the least issue.

Here we are more hoping to resolve our clutch issue which I think is getting closer as Kymco is coming out a new clutch pad soon (I hope)

Other than that, the rest of the problem will have to see what Parotae wrote in his thread.....lol Actually I think he mention 6 Clutch being one of them.

Bike wise, the DT300 is quite good. IMO!

Reliability wise, no complaints yet. Should be very good.

Paithorn should be the best person to ask as he has tour 3 times with it. His scoot don't give him any problems.

For me the power is good, in fact it is the the best in the 300cc class.
