I really can't wait for enrolling for my 2A. Haha.

Wonder what's it like with more power at hand.

Not much difference now as the speed is still the same in the school...lol

Cept that you will handle the bike better since you have been riding for a while already.

The real difference will come when you get the class 2A bike, be it a scooter or a superbike.

Bikes ridden:

89-YamahaLC125, 91-SuzukiRG125, 92-HondaCBR400J , 94-YamahaVirago400, 94-SuzukiGSXR400R, 94-YamahaTZR125, 94-HondaCBR400NFireblade, 96-HondaSteed400,

Alot of factors. Ranging from pillion, rider weight, height, top box, saddle bags, type of gears you wore, wind shield, back pack. Riders endurance limit. Doesnt mean you n your friends can take it, Other can.

Day ride. Night ride also important. Fatigue level too.

ermm... I m not saying anything la bro.. It was more on vibration part. The speed was there without much vibrations. Tts wad I am trying to say. I am sorry if my post was offending.

When you start the bike n let the engine idle for few minutes. Did the rpm drop? Mine did

Ermm... No not really. It bounces..

This coming Xciting 400 only 1 cylinder.

You get what you pay for, high performance high maintenance.

Actually, I feel that the maintenance I did on my X9 was higher than my Super 4 and CBR400...lol

Vibration from handlebar is different from vibration from engine at stationary.

CB400 no problems cruusing at 140-150kph. Top speed actually can whack 180-200kph. But wind blast is crazy, so end up most will be happy to cruise at 140-150kph.

Ok. Noted that Xciting 400 is a single cylinder.

And about maintenance and all, I assume I wont be doing much touring with a 400cc bike compared to car lah. Haha. Both meant for local transportation purpose.... :-D

Yup, heard that Maxsym 600 will be release after the 400. So soon coming. Guess this one will have the full front brake stopping power as compared to 400 left caliper with only 1 piston and half a brake pads. So Maxsym 400 owners get ready to upgrade their caliper and pads.

Yes, I am looking forward to that!

But the SYM MaxSym is a blatant copy of the Burgman 400. Haha.

It's darn long, but unfortunately, the underseat storage is disappointing.

Still prefer the MyRoad 700i VS MaxSym 600i and Burgman 650 Exec ABS.

What's so good about these grips?

Most Scooterist change their grip to these.

Was riding around seated really upright just now.

Windblast on my helmet became really turbulent. Haha. But wasn't going on the expressway, just riding around between traffic lights.

Hmm.... A difference of 3-5cm makes quite a bit of difference. Seated upright, suddenly the DT feels quite small. Haha!

None taken. This is a public forum. In my personal opinion, when i want to give advise pertaining to touring. i make sure i will give the realistic point of view first. Starts from the con then complete with the pro.

No doubt touring is fun. But no pain no gain. We certainly dont want to paint a very nice pictures to the touring wannabe newbie, only to have them feeling disappointment in the end.

Super 4 on avg 140 to 150kph on nshw. Definitely you guys are not sitting upright like in sg. Pretty sure there is a change on riding position. To do 180kph, the riders head already stick very close to the meter. Thats not safe. I rather do 110 on a 2b or do 200 on a tourer instead. Thats i mentioned 400cc and below are generally same during touring. Of course, in town area, a different story.

Well yeah.

Erm, the riding position not only limited to the Super 4, but more of naked street bikes......

Nowadays been seeing more and more DT on the road. Like every 2 days I can spot one on the road!

Are you commenting from someone who have been there done that? You have rode super 4 at 150 or 160kph on nshw? You done 180 to 200 before? Are you are extracting from book theories or from what other ppl tell you? With due respect my friend, if you have not done all these things yourselves. In my humble opinion, i would prefer not havin my comments contested without valid reasoning.

Well, my dad had problems keeping up with most Super 4's when he goes for his touring trips.

But of course, the speed at which riders ride the Super 4 is not the max of 180kph, but rather at 140-150kph.

The wind blast is killing.

That's the power of a Super 4 though. Haha.

Don't be surprised.

Er... Carte to explain why do you think i will feel surprised by your comment? Anyway young man, next time you are providing ur point of view from ur dad or other stories. Its appropriate that you stated out clearly. Dont take credit from what other ppl have done n achieved. Thats the minimum respect for them. You know means you know. Dont know means dont know. Dont know ,dont act you know n claim credit

Hmm hot and spicy...

Then can I give my 3c worth from a ex spec 3 to hayabusa to maxsym owner.

I also own before xr400 and pulsar

Imo all 3 above is having quite min vibration.

The most came from xr 4 n pulsar.

how fast a person can go isn't telling anyone how gd he or she is. Is how fast n long can u last.

if anyone talks abt top speed n maintain, nothing come close to busa. on my s4, I can only do 220 km/h over maybe 10-20km. This is the max the bike can go. Busa, can go 250 km/h and above and you are still quite comfortable n no vibration.

Maxsym or scooter as per say. No matter what touring or what if u do it within that limit. It will be ok. Tired 100 to 120km/h. The vibration is min but going to 150-160km/h. You don't only suffer vibration but also wind blast. Remember this... This is a scooter, not some touring bike.

Busa some will term it as sport tourer but I haven't heard a scooter tourer. Maybe I am new.

s4 is a road bike and it is very gd for street use and some touring but.need wind screen etc.

Also depend on how much can the rider endure etc.

Just need to know what you are buying and riding...and Dun compare cause, its no point.

Cheers

Erh, I think I already make it clear that I dont have a 2A license, so obviously its what I hear that's why I'm reporting here.

I think most important for long distance touring is riding comfort. Speed and all is limited to the bike.

Touring scooter is like the Silverwing and Burgman. Good size, comfort, speed etc.

Most ppl would think scooters are small tiny city runabouts with super tiny wheels, and small engine cc. But clearly, they're wrong. Haha.

My friend didn't think about a rather large sized scooter like my DT125i. Ppl still think scooter is a small mode of transport.

Don't change DT hand grip, the throttle grip is one whole piece cannot be removed. Give a bloody headache and I cut myself. Almost can't put back the throttle cable. Hope I didn't spoil the cable and cable holder.

Hmm.... Not really sure for plastics.

If not maintained well, even if it's possible to return to original looks, I think it'll be really costly....

ermm 140-150 we were more or less up right but definately not at 180 haha.. Of coz I am not saying it is safe at that speed la :)

Yes I agree that its not a good idea of giving those new to touring false hope..

Touring is gonna be tiring. That's why not everyone does it so frequently.

Each time my dad comes back, he's drop dead tired. Haha.

the tube cant come out from the grip? Most new bikes will apply glue to the plastic before sliding on the grip. wad u can do is use a blunt penknife go between the grip and the plastic
