I'm happy riding in Singappre now and am not in a hurry to move up to touring status.

I have not rode on Malaysia's road, but the last I rmb going there on holiday on a bus, the roads ain't as crowded packed (at least for the highway), compared to Singapore.

Hmm.... Not really sure for plastics.

If not maintained well, even if it's possible to return to original looks, I think it'll be really costly....

I learnt a trick awhile ago... U use a heat gun turn to the lowest heat.. And slowly work the plastics..

it will bring the black back.

Lol. The heat gun melts away the white stains??

Or heat can just reverse chemical reaction??

Interesting!

Touring is gonna be tiring. That's why not everyone does it so frequently.

Each time my dad comes back, he's drop dead tired. Haha.

I mean just imagine riding all the way to Phuket....

Rode to phuket in 2009. Not tiring if you have the right bike. Those who explored golden triangle is no easy feat. Respect

Normally the throttle tube should stay on the handle bar after you removed the throttle grip. His one is stuck together. That makes changing to other grip undoable. Hmmmm....maybe can be removed by the air gun

I am not sure about myroad. You have to check with Herbert.

The throttle tube and the rubber are moulded together. If you rubber worn have to change together as a whole set. I must check with MS if they have the throttle tube without the rubber grip. Took me the whole evening to grind it down with grinding stone until like crap ha ha. May need to get a new one to do a nicer job. Really really tough, unless have a lathe machine to machine the rubber grip out without damaging the throttle plastic tube.

Hmmm...... okay...u really butchered the bugger properly I suppose huh hehe... Any endproduct pic bro?

@BaMBiNo

Yes, I butcher it and I got butchered instead ha ha.

It was getting late and I want to go home. Damn frustrated, didn't even have time to take pictures, just wanna finish and go home. Manage to grind it down and some parts grind too thin and some parts thick but overall acceptable.

Anyway here's the finish product in the dark. Tomorrow than post daylight :D

Nope the pic with the side pannier mount is not mine.

As for the grip, felt normal but since it's BMW there's gotta be something good about it. Ergonomics and function I guess. One thing I immediately notice is my left thumb wasn't able to touch the signal switch, my tumb was like block by the switch casing ha ha. It's seems as though my thumb was longer. Due to the taper design I guess, the circumference near the thumb area is thinner. Well got use to it very quickly, just have to raise my thumb higher and further (Exergerated) ha ha.

Here's the better pics

Haha.

The grip looks darn cheapscate design. Better be good in ergonomics though.

Anyways, what camera were you using? The quality quite swee leah.

I use iPhone 3GS, actually the camera lose to iPhone4. Iphone4 can take in low light and the picture make girl look slim ha ha, girls all like.

Yes, have to agree with you the BMW grip look very cheap, feel cheap too ha ha ha. Like im back in my cheap BMX days where the cheapo comes in this kinna of grips. Those fancy one with design are expensive. I think the grips are good coming from BMW, further more it's resonably cheap to replace. One thing im guessing is, it may wear fast due to good friction and soft compound. Good for vibration too I guess, less fatigue on the hands.

Just did a search on the net about BMW grip. Discussion about BMW grip.

Anything that sticks on your scooter won't hold up eventually if there is weight acted on it.

Try the mountain bike water bottle cage. I believe there's a lot of ways to mount them, have a look at mountain bike shop, should be eye opening. Long time never go mountain bike shop Liao. About 10years ha ha.

Actually, the cup holders I intend to put my phone inside. Haha.

There isn't a mounting point on the handlebar or instrument panel though. Think gotta customize a bit. Maybe use those thin wires to bend into shape.

Plenty of wasted space IMO on the handlebar, especially right smack in the middle.

CNY coming liao. This will be my first CNY riding bike! Yay!
