Oh yes forgot the main topic.

The most important any biker must know is basic visual inspection.

Due to the nature of wear and tear, one cannot determine when a particular component will break down especially in between servicing.

Here i'll make a rough guide of things that will need attention once in a while. Stuff that cannot wait to check until the next servicing.

Those that can be check at next servicing or periodic maintenance can also be checked.

01. Tyre pressure

02. Engine Oil level

03. Any Oil leaking

04. All lighting

05. Tyre wear

06. Brake pad thickness

07. Brake Oil Level

08. Coolant level

09. Belting (for DT easy to dismantle cover and casing and check)

10. Clutch pads

11. Weak Starting/cranking (Battery may need replacement)

Do contribute to the list if you deem fit :)

The following I consider to be quite easy to perform, I have done them and if I did anyone can

1. Change Variator rollers and sliding pieces

2. Adjust low headlights

3. change the cigarret socket fuse (haven't done it myself bat seems quite easy)

ill think of more

Bro where u buy the magnetic oil plug from? How much?

Posted

Hey Mr night bird lol!

The drain plug with that magnetic tip is a standard. Check if yours had 1. Should have I guess. If not can just buy over the counter at MS.

It works, lots of grayish tiny metallic dust particles.

Yes, I should ha ha. Starting from tools to spare parts.

Actually can have a small group, share tools and stuff together. Like this huh, MS very little business Liao ha ha. Can change belt, braje pads and those common stuff. Steering cone, wheel bearing cannot DIY then go MS. So MS still got business ha ha.

Woa xciting kena left out liao hahaha

Btw anyone using the ecogreen addictive? seems to be receiving positive comments man...

Yup, I've use them before on my old skipper long time ago(not sure if it's the same oil you are talking about, I remember it's a small bottle with light tinted green oil). I don't remember any difference, maybe very slightly. Use it for combustion cleaning purposes only if it really work, IMO I don't see any significant savings, besides it's damn hassle. I go petrol station, whip out my syringe of 20ml capacity, take out the green oil, use the syringe to suck out the correct amount of oil, pump the oil from the syringe into the petrol tank, keep the syringe and green oil into a plastic bag, store in properly, wrap properly so it won't leak, continue to pump petrol of 5liters am skipper tank max only 7liters, 2liters reserve.

One small bottle for scooter can last some time as it uses 5ml or something like that for every 10liters or something like that. Each bottle how much? I think it's $6.90 or more.

If you wanna see a real significance in fuel savings of around extra 60km per tank (as in your case)is to use that money for the green oil and pump in petrol of about 3liters instead, Viola instant results and savings ha ha.

Any dt 300i rider here experience weak front brake issue? My rear is so much stronger than the front. =/

Weak as in the first time you brake or after riding and using it for some time ?

For my front it's good enough, I usually apply the rear first, then apply more in front if needed. No weak braking in front.

Put your scoot on full stand, tilt the scoot backward so that the front wheel is off the ground. See if it can spin easily. If it can be spun with relative ease, no problem.

Check for oil around the front brake area for leak. Check your right hand side brake reseviour screen to see if there is enough oil.

Yes, but the one you use for testing is in a very bad shape/condition.

Anyway, I already know it's gonna be bad in performance but just want to confirm about the fuel consumption part. My daily average speed is 60km/h-80km/h so wanna lower this speed rpm. The LGE5 will have the proven >30km/l consumption if it's use around >105km/h. As at this speed the rpm between LEA7 and LGE5 is almost the same +- 200rpm(my estimation).

Though I don't have any evidence, but I suspect the problem for your FC comes from the injection system as mine is quite

consistent at 27km/litre.

I tried alternating between 95 and 98 and the FC is still about the same.

(Once only, though the 95 would have save me more money, but didn't like the way the bike perform)

Coz I'm used to 20km/litre for most of my bike, so pertaining to this bike, I didn't really mind a higher FC in exchange

for a more smoother performance with the clutch system(so to speak).

But as the system is not as smooth as to my liking, then the FC better hold up....lol

Dun forget, Paithorn's bike if I didn't remember wrongly can do up to 30km/litre.

Yes, it is likely that it maybe the injector. Must find out how to test it.

I still can't get more than 25/l.

paithorn's scoot is using the 4 hole injector more power vs our 10 holes injector. Still wondering wheather to change to 4 hole injector? People are moving forward with better parts and here I'm downgrading to older parts. What the.... >:E

Oh yes, another member here shunoski is the same as our batch but doing 30km/l average and even better at times.

I want to cry Liao.....

Wait I tio suan again "got money buy bike, no money pump petrol"

This scoot should be both power and save petrol, why should I compromise. Lemon yah?

Btw, I wonder the 1st generation exhaust pipe is available or not? I thought they did something in the new

one to dampen the power on our current ones.

Anyway, waiting for Juan to run in further his Hit system and see how he is enjoying it.

Meanwhile (Crossing my finger), hope that MS will get the new clutch pads soon.

Are both your brake levers adjusted to the same strength?

I mean is the distance between your lever and the grip for both of them

the same.

But you should be at least getting my FC as I wasn't very kind to my bike and I'm getting a consistent 27km/litre.

Unless, you have been a really punishing rider.....lol

Then maybe you can change your nick to "The Punisher"......wahahaha

Still getting the clutch slip or is the ride smoother now?

For me, the clutch slip seems to have disappear(But can feel a slight bit when moving off after just warm up).

But when compare to my old SW, the smoothness can't fight. Lol!

Fyi guys... Right lever is for right caliper and left lever is for left front and rear....

This is for xciting..

Posted (edited)

I rarely push my scoot in a way like rushing for time.

I ride normally.

Thought I'll leave my scoot for MS to check then.

I should not fit the LEA7 Variator set first.

No clutch slippage. Now move off vibration very strong. Now when idling can hear the front headlamp area vibration noise like some plastic loose when the front wheel is off the ground on full stand.

Combine brake system for balance. I wonder if use all the time on the left lever that means one side wear faster. Wonder why not all three so balance with a proportional valve for correct brake force distribution between front and rear?

Sometimes, u dont need to use all brakes.

Using excessively causes more wear and tear. Haha!

Now I very lazy. Used to take out me helmet and jacket to air it at home. Now I just leave it in the box and underseat storage. Haha!

Too many things to carry liao. Haha.

Braking is an art itself.

Not only brake pads wear, tyre wear as well. Sudden acceleration and deceleration also causes tyre wear.

I like the under seat compartment for storing my helmet after wearing. The heat can dry moisture faster ha ha rather than let it seat in the box and grow bacteria, which causes funky smell. Gloves too - perfect.

I think I can be considered to be a aggressive rider.

I think I'm using quite a bit of the brakes and as a result, brake fade is now happening rather noticeably, as well as tire wear. Haha.

Its been 2600km since I changed to the soft compound Metzeler.
