Hi guys!

I thinking of switching from a superfour to an off road bike and need some advice. The main reason for my thought is that I want to cut down my transport costs.

So a quick search around kinda narrows my choice to a DR350 cos' its relatively cheap to buy. Now, I've never owned an off road bike before, so I'm wondering what are the typical running costs involved.

Things like:

1) Fuel Costs

2) Oil Change

3) Typical repairs for this model

4) Tyres and others.

It'll be really great if you guys can help me out here.

Thanks!

Comparing a 4-cylinder water-cooled engine with a single cylinder air-cooled engine, the cost savings in maintenance is obvious. But don't expect the similar ride quality, a thumper vibrates alot more than any super4.

The DR is not a fussy bike, it will still run regardless if it's maintain properly or not. ie. you can deviate from the factory maintenance schedule to save cost, although not advisable if you want to keep it in tip-top condition.

check here for more info on a DR350

DR 350 is damn cheap to run.

1 spark plug very little engine oil, air cool so no problem with radiator (no radiator). tyres are definately much cheaper than a super 4, insurance also cheap.

I dare say your running cost btw a super 4 and DR 350 is cheaper by more than half. Oh ya, i find it more comfortable than a super 4 because of its suspension and light weight.

The first virtue of all really great men is that they are sincere. They eradicate hypocrisy from their hearts.
