Anyone need 2nd hand KNN air filter for CBR400? used only for 6 mths, still very clean and comes with box. Selling for $70. PM me if really interested.

hi guys.. i have this problem with my bike..

 

1) Ride it for a long time and then the engine just died off, it happens also when i ride the bike at low rpm 5-6 rpm. The engine will just died off then i will have to wait a while and use the choke while starting up the bike..

 

Anyone experience same problem or knows what's wrong? pls do guide me.. thanx

Sounds to me like your choke is jammed but might not be the case. Maybe you'd like to send down to the bike shop to check it out...

learn from my mistake!

 

last time mi also having same problem.

 

 

i do the way u did(rest pull choke,start bike)

 

 

last about one week.then bike finally die off.

 

 

the problem?

 

magnetic coil...cost i never repair it earlier.then fuel pump also spolit.

total cost

mag coil $300+

fuel pump 100 +

 

have them check your current coming out from the coil to make sure it is really the problem!

On avg magnetic coil can last btw 5 to 10 yrs for CBR400. However, R6's magnetic coil can fail as fast as 2 years.

 

If you've changed to a brand new, then it should last long enough until you sell off your bike. If you've changed to a recon, you wouldnt know when its going to fail you again.

Anyway, for a shop to do paintwork, i recommend JB shop there, the ah gua lane there.. cause my friend just pushed his R1 there to respray, did a very gd job.. whole bike for 1300RM. Can gif it a try. the shop is ah hao there. :cheer:

hmmm, tat comes to abt SGD550?? if its a 2/3 colours exclu rims with fairings alone, it ain't really tat cheap though..

 

one of the downside with jb respray is quality & oso the need for the supervision of the spray job if any.. some owners may wanna add a couple of stickers b4 lacquering & specific instructions is quite difficult when the bikeshop dun do the sprayjob themselves & send it to somewhere else to get it done. lotsa mis-comm along the way & end results r often not within expectations. to make things worse, it rather troublesome to travel in & out of jb w/o a bike isn't it??

so how many color ur fren sprayed? is it a fanciful design or plain 2 or 3 colors?

My friend spray a lot of colours.. Tasmania colour design on a R1.. Very Chio!!! but too bad no camera on that day to take the pic.. :lovestruck:

 

If u guys really wanna check out the price, just go down to that shop and ask lor, let him see ur design first then ask for price, u can choose not to spray also ma. But its a good deal to me.. :cheeky:

dun know what happen to my bike ...

it happen 2 days ago.

was riding half way... den suddenly .. bike like no fuel ... den bike went dead.

start also cannot.

den i wait awhile .. start, can already...

like no fuel like tat....

 

today while going out ... i ride... den i start to ride about 90 - 100km/h ...

bike start to have tat feeling again ... no power ... no fuel ...

even i twist the throttle .. also nothing happen...

stop at the side... switch to res.. den start.. at first cannot .. but got the crank sound ... still got batt ... but cannot start...

wait and wait .. den can start already....

 

den at night going out .... on expressway... trying to ride fast again...

about 100km/h .. the thing come again....

no power... even how i twist the throttle also no fuel .....

den stop at road side....

pull choke .. den can start already....

this time the sound very different ...

like wrx ...

like fuel got ... den dun have ... have.... dun have like tat...

 

i ask my friend help me see the problem .. he say ... must be carb dirty....

 

so what is the actually problem ???

could be a sign of impending fuel pump failure... be prepared for it then... :goodluck:
