Think that sound you mention was from mine. I keep thinking it was con-rod sound and a couple of mechs pointed it out too, but Planet's Ah Chong tested and assured me it was cam sound due to springs loose, whack also won't spoil... so fingers crossed.

if is that so, try not to whack the bike for too long..

if u hav spare cash, try to get it done..

i dun really listen to the sound close up.. if assume wat chong say is the spring of the valves, the prolong hitting of the spring at high speed may wear the spring, u oso dun wish to hav broken spring bits to screw up yr valve..

 

one more thing to check is in future when u change oil filter, open the old filter up.. using a saw or cutter.. but must be clean cut.. check the inside for metal bits..

cos the sound from far oso sound like cod rod bearing.. and cbr 400 con rod bearing is not the same as normal wheel bearing design..

hmm yup i experience that too. but imptlany even after press 3 for times , the bike can start. so for me its ok to press the starter 3 or 4 times as long as can start. hahah. if not cia lat.

I saw the few of you just whack and left while I was talking to Coolday. So i took my time slowly exited ECP service road, then gave chase.... some more need to slow down and pose for camera in front of fort road...

 

But i don't think i saw you guys leh... you all run so fast...

basically cbr is a hot bike.and the when the bike gt hot it tend to start more difficult.when engine cold start easily

If u want budget one, can buy rxz footrest and install. The cost is 12 bucks per pair. If u want original one, one side cost abt 30.

how hot u mean?? compare wif wat bike?? are u wearing short pants or jeans while riding..

u can check yr cooling system like yr radiator, hoses.. check yr setting of yr carb too.. too lean mixture will oso increase the heat..

if is difficult to start while the engine is hot, is common for cbr.. try rev abit while starting..

i prefer riding wave in sg traffic since the traffic always pack wif cars.. i prefer abiding the traffic rules... if road limit 50, i go 55.. if 70, i go 75.. if 90, i go 95..

the onli place for mi to push my bike is track and 2nd link..
