btw i jus change EBC brake pad for front brake.. =) $86. ;) bought air filter cleaning kit also at $26. clean my k&n air filter. btw if put k&n air filter need tor retune is it i heard? retune the carburetor is it?

Hi all babybladers, i need some inputs to why my friend's cbr400 have a very hard time getting it to start. Its harder to start the engine when its hot than when it is cold. Hope you guys can help! Thanks in advance!!

 

gsxr can crank the engine start within 3 cranks even thou is a old bike le..

so if u encounter someone's gsxr have to crank more than 3 times..

is either tuning go wrong, air filter dirty, weak plugs..:dot: good luckk...:cheeky:

oh is it? ok la. mine not so bad. sometime one time or two time start can already..

 

btw heard from the mechanic that my CDI need to be change. can spoilt anytime coz got glue stain coming out. its because of too HOT ah the bike.. and COIL need to change also. my charging not that strong. either 1 or two wire spoilt. no wonder that time my bike cannt start. voltage go down. en push start can. i naked my bike tighten and unloose the cable watever den ok better still charging wen throttle in neutral gear. But charging not so good from wad i see different from last time:dozed:.

i wonder issit my rectifier or coil has problem.

 

when i have my pilot light and headlight on. and travelling around 5-6rpm.

my voltage is only 13.1-13.5V. shouldnt be it around 13.8-14.++V?

if rectifier got problem your bike cannot start at all coz rectifier will go to coil once the engine start.

if coil got problem, when riding, the coil wont charge ur battery on ur bike rather it runs on Battery only rather than rectifier and coil.:angel:

 

urs shud b no problem la. when u on ur light it used up the battery thats y la voltage go down.. i wonder if it's overcharge how eh. heard that if u put grounding or wadeever ur battery wun overcharge? hmm.. pl advice. thks guys. =)

u listen to mech word by word or u may have misunderstand wat he say??

 

how a engine run related to this situation:

- the sparks from sparks plug ign the fuel

- the ign coil need a certain amt of electric to amplify into higher electric and supply to the plug

- so this electric come from the charging system/batt..

- if the charging system/batt dun have enough power to provide the ign coil, engine cannot run..

- as for charging system, is the coil that produce AC.

- as all the bike electric components(batt, light bulbs, starter motor etc.) are running on DC, the rectifier is there to convert AC to DC.

- either one of them is spoil, the whole charging system will fail..

p.s ign coil = ignition coil, the coil = magnetic coil/alternator

i understand the physics behind the charging system.

however, what are the healthy range for the voltage to be.

i'm still confused.

and if it doesnt fall within the range, which should be checked first? battery i guess? =/

nowdays very hard to find used yoshi pipe for cbr liao

 

there's a few on sale last week.. :)prices abit ex though around $500... haven include transfer of ownership and inspection fees though.. if im nt wrong a new yoshi ard 700.. pay abitmore can buy new ones liao.. S4 and fireblades yoshi are compatible...

Hi guys having some doubts about my cbr400rr N model hope you guys can help me solve

it thanks in advance... 1.when ever i riding at gear 5/6 rpm below 6k i can hear metal scratching sound around my left footrest is there any problem or just normal? 2.when my bike temp get high the coolant water will flow out from a pipe near my right footrest dripping all over the place is it normal? any way to stop it? 3.how much is the racing footrest for cbr400? any brands to recommend?

Brand wise I oso forget le..

Last time I use pop footrest and use a bracket to fit it on..

But there is one brand that make to suit cbr400..

i was using a POP 7 adjustable position rearsets for my cbr last time..

The range should be abt 13 plus.. Not less than 13..

When the bike is running, the voltage reading is base on the charging value..

When the engine is not running, the reading show the batt value..

That y u need to understand the reading of meter at diff situation to determine the batt or charging condition.
