just started riding my cbr a few days ago. love the whine of the engine and the puffing tone on my endcan. when the bike is idling, i can throughly appreciate the sound compared to a 2-stroke-mosquitoe-killing-fogger.

just curious, what rpm do u guys usually change gear at? when i'm on the e-way and i slow down on 6th gear to 5rpm, i do not drop my gear(too lazy). simply rev a little and hold it there till my speed increases again. is that a bad habit?

ur firing has problem . so in this case it might be one of the below ...

- Spark Plug conector not in good contact with spark plug, u said u change it, OEm or NGK ?

- HT Coils faulty.wiring faulty

- Inginiton control unit giving problem-

- incorrect spark plug,

- Air filter resticted- mosty and suprisingly tis is the case - air neeed to light the spark., clean or maint the K&N air filter. use compress air to remove the dust etc.

hmmm... the spark plug is original spark plug... cause i check the number be4 they install... as for air filter, i tink should not be the problem because i wash it when i got the bike...as for the first 3 u have mention.. i will check it out with planet... thanks for the help...

Problem come liao. lol

1) need to warm up at least 10 mins then the temp meter will hit less then 1/4. However, after move off... i can only go slow for the first 8km or so... then the bike wont stall when i clutch in. Why ar? Tuning problem?

2) On the move for 20 plus km already... bike temp is on the middle of the meter? issit normal? but when stop for a traffic to turn green.... temp hit 3/4. Woah... hot leh. Check the coolant reservoir, dried up though i jus flush n top up 2 weeks ago. Radiator side still full with coolant... jus the reservoir dried up.

So, wats the problem?? enlighten me pls thx.

BTW, i drop my bike ytd. :sian:

from what i learnt recently, the reservoir under the seat is an overflow container for the radiator. when the radiator's coolant has been heated till it boils, it expands and needs a place to depressure or else our radiator will explode . all this expanded coolant will flow to our reservoir in the form of steam and coolant. it will be pumped back to the radiator after awhile.

what is most important is that the radiator is full when you open it's cap just below our front head cowl. anyway, my bike heats up quite easily too when i'm travelling slow for long distances or when i'm held up by red lights once too often.

normally i would wait 30secs - 1 minute for my bike to warm up before i move off. the temperature gauge is not necessary when warming up the bike. 1 minute of idling is more than enough to warm our machines.

just started riding my cbr recently so pls correct me if i got any detail wrong

wat i've learnt bout the coolant reservoir is not the same as u.

My understanding is :-

The coolant reservoir below our seat is a 'spare' to reinforce the radiator coolant when the coolant in the radiator boils/used up. So, when the coolant in the radiator boils... it does not really flow back to the reservoir. (those tat condenses will flow back, but when water boils... the water level will be much higher) thus, theres a tube/piping jus slightly below the radiator cover which allow the coolant in the radiator to flow/escape when the coolant in the radiator boils/ overflow. its 1 of those tubes tat is somewhere ard our right foot katak.

is mine understanding correct???
