i think above 130 den can see the difference la ...

i once sat on a rex. can say is quite fully mod..

he gear 1 lut till near 40, change gear .. den so on...

for a cbr can reach more den tat ..

cbr will start to climb up slowly once after 130 .. but a rex is more powerful and will see the difference once after it ..

anyway.. we can't hang on long in fast speed.. but car will be more stable den us.

So we cannot compare with car.

a car can carry 4 ppl .. and be able to reach 100 less den 10 sec.

can a bike carry 4ppl and do it ?

so we cannot compare much la ..

When u starts to own a REX .. u sure will wan to make ur car best.

Den u see a cbr .. u will .. ai ya.. i will kill it.

Den when we own a CBR.. we will .. ai ya.. waste time la .. i can slaughter it.

So be happy on ur machine.

True, true. :cheeky:

I remember 400's 0-100 km/h acceleration is about 4.5s. Then STI Spec C about 4.8s. EVO GSR about 4.7s. I bet EVO FQ 320 should be close to 4.5s. Then most of Rex & Evo drivers wil mod mod mod their cars like mad, making it even faster! :thumb:

So if I'm on a CB/CBR 4 dragging an AWD rally car, I wun b surprised to be overtaken when i hit 100 or 110 km/h. If it only happens after 130 km/h, then that car muz b a stock base Rex. :cheeky:

Still wondering if a CBR 4 will out-corner an EVO? Doubt so. Stock base Rex ... maybe.

IMHO, small bikes like us better dun play wif these rally monsters! Safety's 1st! :cheer:

mm. but because u said can try top, then i was thinking is the road long enough to try ?

well ok to clarify, answer is can. if you manage to blast 14k RPM thru the gears.

On standard CDI may not be able to achieve this, but change to HRC CDI ok. But after that have to watch out coz it can go up to 16k RPM (clear RPM meter) and if you do that all the way you will blow your engine.

i hv problems overcoming the BMW and i am always in wrong gears. they say last turn u only need 2nd gear, aft tat u pull for the long straight and i try to brake btw e 100 - 50 mark for turn 1....and all this done at low speed btw hehe cos i guess it's abt getting the basics rite and am still stuffing up sheesh

Well there are variety of gearing and techniques for all turns, even BMW.

Sometimes I use 2nd, sometimes i use 3rd gear depending on my line and what I want to do - run away from someone or charge the guy in front.

Rules taught at SSDC (I took my licence there) applies - slow in fast out. For a chicane like BMW, if you go in fast you have trouble at the exit coz of the change of direction. I would suggest 2nd gear for safety, although 3rd gear would be very fast if you can handle rolling speed and braking well.

On the last turn, it's also another thing of choice - 2nd or 3rd. 2nd is conservative with more drive, 3rd is alot of cornering speed that you need to handle well.

Braking point 100-50m, depends on your experience on the track. Start at 100 and set targets to try brake later during future practice.

Hope the above helps...in the end you need to practice and find what suits you most, and what you want to achieve.

P.S.>>If there are any other opinions other than what I just typed, just share. There are gazilions of ways to ride on the track, mine is not neccessarily correct.

Question: CBR 400 RR vs WRX STI

Stock v stock ... who win on local roads? :bouncefire:

Wan tan mee's aunt own one WRX Sti version. Top speed can go up to 240 as she tried it on the NS highway. (if i not wrong IT stock for that STI)

Hah, interesting. Likewise, I think off traffic light, CBR 4 got chance to win, but once past 50 km/h, the powerful STI may run over a biker ... yikes! :giddy:

Who can corner better?

For sure, car can brake faster!

ya.. cornering think they are better than us. Much more stable. Ours if happens that the road has sand, that goes our bikes.

:giddy:

We have two wheels while theirs have four, we sure lose out. Unless we using class two bike, lose in cornering, but we can still catch up as class two bike the pick - up is fast.:

Yeah. I've also seen Type R beating STI at Sepang track. Think driver play a big part too.

Being a driver and a rider, I think I can corner better on four wheels. The fact that I don't have balls to corner to my limit on my bike, but dare to gun the accelerator in my car, makes up for the lack of acceleration of the car.

Anyway I have a techinical question for all babybladers. Our headlights use H4 60/35W dual-filament halogen bulbs. I have been trying to find a nice replacement but all I could find were 60/55W ones. Where do you guys get yours, and what do you recommend? I was looking at Sylvanias (Osram) Silverstars and Philips Diamond.

thks for the tips. guess i hv to continue working on my no brakes drill....v kalang kabot when entering a corner....guess i shd be going slow and learn the linings and gears 1st, dare not think abt speed at this stage.

wat u mentioned, would be a good source of reference cos most of the fellas r on big bikes and i think they may operate differently fr a 400cc bike.

wrong... L model is CBR400RRL. there are slight different for those bikes. L model are to say without any restriction and delivers more power. N and R model are with restrictions but they are removable. The headers for L models are slightly bigger den other model.
