RAWRS. angry manz. my bike kena hit by another bike which got knocked down by something. one 2cm long .5cm wide , 1cm deep hole and some cracks on my left middle fairing. how much u guys think this need to fix ?

i ve changed Magnetic coil beforemy trip up north last yr for $270 at HKL.

The old one was partially burnt causing a poor charging at higher RPM.

 

HKL at where? address pls thanks....

 

Anyway if want to change can just change coil nia? or must change rectifier oso?

u hav to check for any leak at all the hose that connected to the radiator..

check that yr radiator is not leaking too..

check yr coalant pump is not leaking too..

open up the radiator cap..

check the rubber seal on the cap..

if the rubber expanded beyond the metal base, means u hav to change the cap le..

most-likely ur coolent cap is damage.

u can diy, much cheaper.

i jus change the cap 15 dollor.. keep drip when i go fast.

i changed my coolant to engine ICE at Unique motorsports. reduce my temp by A LOT. but expensive la. haha

Go to hardware store ask for Radiator cap size 1.1 its about $8.

u must understand wat is the use of the coolant and how it works 1st..

check out the contents in engine ice. better off with maxima coolant or water wetter. much cheaper and better.

I know that engine ice is for cooling the engine when its maintain at its maximun potential and thus high temperature was achieve, and its aim is to reduce that. but in SG we got the other end of heating the engine when its at the minimun and not enough air to cool it. that's my idea too.

HKL is at bukit merah.... Along that popular stretch of bike shops...

 

N yupz, can just change coil alone... No prob for that... But just becareful loh... Some mechanic will see ur rectifier and than say somethin like, its gonna spoil soon lah, blah blah, will ask u to change as well...

 

I'm not saying mechanics from HKL... N i'm not sayin all mechanics are like that...

 

But i say it coz i ever experience somethin like that before...

as u mentioned.. is to cool down the temp when there is not enough air flow to cool it down...

check the content of engine ice.. it contain glycol... glycol hav property that will prevent freezing of coolant water in radiator for winter countries..

but this compound oso hav bad point.. is that it is not a gd heat conductor.. the heat transfer from engine to coolant than to atmosphere is less efficiently than pure water..

but of cos pure water will encourage rusting and scaling in radiator.. In singapore, is impossible to experience winter.. so glycol is no use for us.. is better to use water based coolant like waterwetter and maxima..
