great suggestion....but den means i travel all d way from west to simpang bedok n back to cck..

 

den next mornin 7am again ride all d way to simpang bedok for my offroad !!!!

Guys, i am back from MIA. Haha. Hope u guys didn't miss mi too much. Anyway sianzm even i am back, my bike is still not back. She has been hospitised for abt 3weeks liao. Haiz... Anyone got any idea wat would cause a bike to overheat given the following: new radiator, new coolent hose, new water pump and new thermostat at radiator and engine.:giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

Basically i haf change all the things tt will cool a bike down liao, yet still overheat. Argh.....

On the road, i will make sure u can't see my rear light...:angry:

Coz like that then i can blind you with my HID front light from your back...:angel:

Hmmz, i did tot of tt. But if EO mixed with coolent den when doing EO change, by right i shld see the greenish solution mixed together wif EO. But i didn't. Regarding the radiator cap, it is oso new one coz when change radiator, it come along with it. Coolent reservior not leaking, but when my bike overheat, the coolent from the radiator when flow to the resevior and overflow it. Causing the coolent to come out from the overflow pipe attached to the coolent.

 

I read up on regarding the movement of the coolent in the bike system. I am alrdy at my wits' ends. Haiz........

On the road, i will make sure u can't see my rear light...:angry:

Coz like that then i can blind you with my HID front light from your back...:angel:

if the coolant got mix wif engine oil in the pan, is whitish.. not greenish..

if the engine oil get into the coolant, the coolant will appear a bit milo..

check that the rad cap hav the rite pressure type, 0.9, 1.0, 1.1 bars..

CBR400 uses a 1.1 bars pressure cap..

from wat u mention, hav a check on the cap.. cos the pressure cannot be kept in the rad, leading to overflow of coolant..

sounds like you cooling system is almost as new, except for the water jackets around the engine. why not over haul your engine and keep it for a long time, since you have spent so much on your bike already bro?

 

heemm, are you over refiling water in your expansion tank? cos we are not suppose to pour too much water too. and even if your cooling sys is perfect, if there is a prop in the engine, it could easily leed to over heating. just like our body, one will lead to another. try to pay attention to the minor thing around your bike. last thing you could try is overhaul the engine loh.

dun depend on the engine oil color to see if its being mixed. smoke color would be .... i cant remember the color but it wont be black or white. or you can also unscrew the dip stick to see if it is akwardly diluted or full... thats all i could think of for now. but for the smoke color , i will check my old books....

hmmz, actually i overhual my engine like last yr as u had said, i wanted to keep this bike for a long term. I did a top and bottom overhual, replaces all my pistons and piston rings and check my gears at the bottom engine. And i have owned this bike for more den 3yrs. Regarding the overflowing of coolent from the resevior, i understand wat u all mean. I did not over pour the coolent. But the interesting is by right, according to a reliable source, hot coolent from the radiator will pump the radiator cap open and the hot coolent will flow down to the resevior causing a vaccum in the radiator. In return, when the engine cools down, the vaccum will suck the coolent back from the resevoir to the radiator and fill it up again. Sound logical to me.

 

However, now the situation i am facing is, whenever the coolent inside the radiator heat up and move to the radiator, aft the engine cools down, my radiator become half filled. And thus causing my thermostat attach to the radiator to give a super high temp reading. It is reasonable as due to the lack of coolent in the radiator. I was thinking, if it was the water jacket in the engine tt is faulty, are u referring to the cam gasket? And if u r referring to the cam gasket, den by right i overhual the engine last yr, the gasket shldn't haf got any prob unless the mechanic tt does my bike did something wrong when installing the gasket, right.

On the road, i will make sure u can't see my rear light...:angry:
