Hi All,

I'm an Indian who came to Singapore on December with a Work Permit. I have owned a 350cc bike back in India since the last 5 years and ride it. Now my doubt is, I want to convert my foreign license to a Singapore Class2A license.

On the Govt site, this info is given:

Conversion for a higher capacity or open category motorcycle licence is normally not granted unless there are documentary proof of training, testing, ownership of bigger motorcycle and insurance policy indicating that you have gone through proper training and testing regime and have had at least one year riding experience on the road.

I have proof that I own the motorcycle since 5 years, but there is nothing in India for training related stuff as mentioned on the site.

So is my original Indian Driving License + Indian Log book of my 350cc bike enough to get me a 2A License? Please advise.

Thanks in Advance,

Sunny.

EDIT :

Like to add that there are 3 classes of Licenses in India. Below 50cc, Unlimited cc and gearless sccoters only, Unlimited cc and Geared bikes. I have the Unlimited cc and geared bike license :)

Have u check if can be converted to our 2B license first ?

If can u should thank god liao..cause

2B take more time and money as compared to 2A/2

In Singapore, Traffic Police normally only allow foreign license to be converted to 2B at max (very good liao if can),many country bike license not accepted here by TP..Many have to go learn from scratch from the centre. Even if you show ownership of ur 2A bike in india this doesn't proof that u can handle the big bike here in Singapore Road.

The 2B is to let u familiar with our roads after 1 year , go learn 2A at any of the centre and take the TP test.

p/s: No offense but as i know many country don't have proper training for motorcycle.

Motorbike license comes free with car license. If urs isthis kind than high chance u can't even convert to our 2B dude. Call the TP to check with them or go down to the centre TP counter with all ur docu to check.

You can try your best get the all related document to prove, increase the percentage to get 2A.

Note:the insurance cover note is important also:)

Yeah, we never had any proper training as such. Had to learn by riding friends bikes on empty grounds lol. My license aint free though, had to take up 3 different practical tests for 3 classes. all of them pretty strict :(

@fx : Curerntly I have only the log book with me. Will try to get the insurance as well :)

Thanks for the replies,

Sunny.

When I converted mine 4-5 years ago, they told me:

Asian countries we can only give 2B

But of course there are exceptions, and you can always try for yourself

good luck :D

only 2B

get the pulsar indian bike with super 50km/l

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

There is only one best mechanic for your bike...YOU

Bah am sick of Pulsars everywhere in India. Last bike i wanna get is a pulsar :| Build quality is super shitty, it seems bajaj sells the same built bikes here as well.

I've been a stroker guy owning two Yamaha RXs in india ( RX135 and RXZ ). Only logical thing for me to do is to buy an aprilia RS125 or a NSR150SP :p

Bro, unless you are from US,Europe (like UK German France Italy etc), Australia, new Zealand, Canada. It shouldn't be any problem in converting to no limits motorcycle liscense (here it's called Class 2A, 400cc & above). It's not written anywhere, but that how it has been. All expat engineers in my company from those countries, ride bigger cc bikes.

If you are from India, Bangla, Indon, Philipines where the procedures of attaining the liscence is phorous, then too bad bro; you have to go by the book. Just live with class 2B first (
