First change the junk oil inside ASAP......

My friend brought a new R1 I told him to change oil and filter ASAP....

Ride to bike shop and 4km on the odo oil flowed out silver in colour.....

200km on the odo .....A bit better but still contains lots of metal fillings.....

I just cannot understand why people actually let those oil flows inside the engine for 1000km???

By the time the new bike reaches you oil filter clogged and oil full of metal fillings...

Can someone enlighten mi on that.......

My suggestion change oil and filter at 0km,200km,500km and 1000km using the cheapest oil u can find....

When I bought my W400 new, first thing I did when I reached home was changing the oil and the oil filter. The virgin oil has a bit of silvery dust in it. Subsequent oil and oil filter change at 500km and 1000km. After 1000km I stick to every 5000km :thirsty:

I am not sure about other bikes....But for Suzuki GSXR series all of them go thought the dyno before shipping out to make sure is within spec.....So how to test it.....Not by idling of course.....Is full throttle applied and I am sure that's when all the run in occurred.....

I read from other forums.....In fact how you run in is not really important and the manufacturing process perfected over decades.....

I would is the oil that is inside......Minerals oils that helps to run in the components....

So I am looking at those crap oil and ask my friend why actually many people so concerned about how they run in rather than changing out all the craps inside....

Engine is the heart, oil is the blood and oil filer is the kidneys......

So when the kidneys is clogged...will the heart and blood be healthy......?????Well Everyone got a diff concept.......

u can change ur EO at 2000km, oil filter change every 3-4 EO change

ermm, i feel tat not neccesary to change so often, if u change semi-syn still acceptable, but if fully-syn change every 2000km, i feel its a waste.

Too much ppl monkey see monkey do, they dun really understand their bikes, they just listen and follow.

cos pple hav the thinking that parts need to replace often to avoid damage of bike or disappointment to the rider when he really need the ride..

but if u maintain the bike well wif proper knowledge, the parts will work well too..

for example, my bike chain on my bike for 2 years.. being for track, hatyai, malacca, transport bike in sg.. still doing fine..

btw im riding sp using o ring, chain 7 months never touch up already and it still looks fine..

X ring or O ring is aka maintenance-free chain..

there are oil seals present in the chain is to lock on the grease at every links..

the grease will lub and reduce the friction/shear forces acting on the links that wear the chain..

if the seal is spoil, the grease can no longer hold on the location and that particular link will onli work as a normal chain which need lub regularly..

To: TS, oil/lube the chain occasionally and after a ride in the rain. clean the chain wif kerosene/chain cleaner/diesel like once every 2/3 months. those sticky chain lub will attract debris and stick on the chain. prolong riding will provide the debris the chance to wear the seal off.. so alway hav to inspect the chain..

lub the chain in the proper way.. i notice alot like to use the shortcut method that dun serve any gd to the chain. search the forum for the rite method..

:)
