Am using firefox but i noticed that i always have a blank page prior to the actual content. the content gets chopped off halfway and this only occurs with only certain websites that i visit. I tried fiddling with printer setting to omit printing blank pages but does not work. perhaps those websites are only meant for IE?

not using IE cos it was alot and has too many spy/adware attached to it.

is there a way to tweak printer setting to resolve the issue?

It would help if you also indicate your OS and a printer make/model and the web-page you are having problems with.

Something tells me you are in Windows, so I would look into the printer settings and try 'print directly to printer' option.

You can also try experimenting with MS IE Explorer. IE7/8 are pretty much OK for what they are - print the page from IE too.

It is a known fact that FF cannot correctly render some web-pages (or, some web-pages are incorrectly coded - depending on what site of the fence you are.. :) )

Good luck!

windows XP printer xerox c4300 or something - office network printer

If that Xerox c4300 is attached to the print-server and everybody else in the office has similar problems when printing to it, ask your IT Support guys to check their setup, namely the correct drivers. Even better, get them do the whole thing for you. :)

If that Xerox c4300 is just attached to the network and uses an in-built print-server, then make sure you have correct drivers installed onto your PC. Again, see my first message and try experimenting a little.

Most likely the issue is with the printer setup rather than FF.

Good luck!

don't think the others have similar issues cos they are on IE..guess i will have to migrate back to IE and hopefully it doesn't keep crashing. just installed IE 8. had to buy my own RAM cos the IT dept in the UK office did not approve of us increasing our RAM...we are still on 512mb...so darn primitive. mine's now on 2.5gb cos i was abt to go mental w the pc hanging and crashing

Your pc now using 1x 2GB 1 x 512mb?

anyway to quickshift you can remove all the add on on your IE and it should be back to normal.

Well, you would be surprised to know what I brought to the office from home just to do my job efficiently - it is simply better that way than endless justifications and crap.. :)

IE8 is not that bad, really, and if it helps you to get the job done.. use it! why not? :)

You can browse with FF and only print from IE, awkward but should do the trick.

ok thks guys for the advise....now am curious what you brought from home quickshift. the irony is that the company stresses so much on productivity yet IT is on the bottom of priorities. am not sure if they realise that having efficient access to information and system support decreases the downtime and some of us like to multi task cos of the amount of research and writing we have to do. this company is guilty of killing lots of trees too! *lol* so much printing but i try to save by printing 2 pages on 1 page & on both sides

If that is the case, I will just try IE8 and see how it goes.

IT has always been at the bottom of priorities.. Every annual budget is blood and tears... :)

What I brought from home? Quite a few things, actually.

Half of my technical library and so on..

It will not be very polite if I start listing all those things here..

Let's just leave it... :)

hmm that is true but i guess it really depends on the industry you are in.

Spot on! an entire IT Dept... I couldn't have put it any better! :)

As for industry, I would not measure the budgets based on the industry alone. In actual fact you would probably be very surprised to see that smaller companies are more responsive to the user needs than large multinationals..

Oh, well.. :(

Anyway, was good chatting with you here. :)
