Hi there, just bought a WR200, and have not a single bit knowledge on them. Need some advice and answers~

-My wr200 which i recently bought has Front KTM Brembo Brake kit(I believe KTM uses 2-pot caliper) but currently i am using the original stock caliper(Single-pot), braking is not as efficent, must i change the caliper to ktm200 too or should i use back the stock?

-What are the common problems a wr200 can face, ie. conrod wear easily or so...?

-Where can i find those golden scales that i see many scrambler has? How much are those?

-Do you guys spray your side-boards at spray shop or D.I.Y?

-Any Scrambler shops to recommend other than dirt wheel. somewhere near central.

break down often? that i have to disagree. i used to ride a WR for almost 3yrs. it all depends on u to do the necessary maintanance of the bike. all bikes go through wear n tear.u take care of the bike, the bike wont create a hassle for u.

well bro ET, the gold scales can be bought at LAB. just put it on urself. simple enough. as for the paintjob, i would recommend stickers instead. i'm sure there are bros out there who provide sticker services for dirtbike. look through the forum, i'm sure there is. bout ur brakes, its possibly ur brake fluids. get a mech to check it out for u. i can only think of Speedzone as for dirtbike shops in central location. maybe other bros care to add?

try ah seng near sim lim there. i don't knw the add. careful of the 2t, must regularly check. conrod no need to worry so much.

ps. wr200 don't often breakdown if u take gd care of the bike. anyway all bikes are the same if u don't take care of it.

comes with a KTM brembo brake kit? wow keep using those cos stock brake calipers suck! anyway i've been riding my WR almost a year n i mus say its an enjoyable ride.

2T, spend abit more n get fully synthetic ones. n also, if u dun mind carrying a 200ml bottle full of 2T around, convert it to premix. i was using the stock 2T pump when one day it failed n almost send me flying down TPE.

if u want the bling factor for ur WR i suggest u buy another set of plastics for off road use. imagine after doing up ur plastics so nice-nice u'll be very worried if u go off-road. as for me, i rather concentrate on the engine than cosmetic.

as for shops, i'm not really too sure about that as i only patronise Race Incorp at ubi ever since i got my bike =)

BTW congrats on purchasing a WR. u'll have fun on it.

rien d'autre que le max.

Hi there, just a few questions on WR200

1. I am now on premix, so normally 1 litre of petrol i need to pour in how many ml of 2T?

2. What is the Petrol Tank Size of a WR200?

3. How many litres can the Res go?

4. How can i improve on my Front Brakes, changing to steel braided hose and good brake pads, will help or just forget it as it will still be the same?

5. My rear Hub seems to be kinda loud as in rotating sound when i am travelling above 70km/h, why is that happening, izzt normal?

6. What is the normal km(3000km or 5000km) before changing EO & Sparkplug?

7. Any Scrambler shops to recommend, best to have the address?

8. Will changing the fork oil be better for some reasons?

Thank you for going through the questions, if you can, please do answer for me, i need to know more about scramblers.

1. I am now on premix, so normally 1 litre of petrol i need to pour in how many ml of 2T?

- 20ml per litre.. use not too thick 2t.. suitable for premix.. Recommends Putoline MHX..

2. What is the Petrol Tank Size of a WR200?

- 10litres = 8 litres + 2 litres reserve

3. How many litres can the Res go?

- 2 litres..

4. How can i improve on my Front Brakes, changing to steel braided hose and good brake pads, will help or just forget it as it will still be the same?

- yes.. definitely.. check ur rotors too.. wr2 are old bikes.. check disc for warps or bends..

5. My rear Hub seems to be kinda loud as in rotating sound when i am travelling above 70km/h, why is that happening, izzt normal?

- no idea.. nvr experience it before.. maybe my full pc too loud.. =X

6. What is the normal km(3000km or 5000km) before changing EO & Sparkplug?

- 3000km will be gd..

7. Any Scrambler shops to recommend, best to have the address?

- too many to list down.. dirtwheel - tampines.. holeshot - kaki bkt.. and the list goes on and on..

8. Will changing the fork oil be better for some reasons?

- it depends on how hard u wan da rebound to be.. da more oil u use.. da stiffer da shock response..

Thank you for going through the questions, if you can, please do answer for me, i need to know more about scramblers.

-try goin to da other forum.. slackriders.. dedicated to scramblers..

cheers..!

2T is a form of lubrication to da pistons.. da better da grade.. da smoother da bike.. usually all 2-stroke bikes comes wif a 2t pump.. its a reservoir where u store ur 2t.. pre-mix is when da 2t pump is being removed n u haf to mix da 2t into ur petrol tank.. cannot anyhow mix.. too much 2t will cos ur piston to become loose.. too little will cause it to seize/jam..

EO = Engine Oil..

not really dat safe.. its easier n more convenient lar.. but u`ll nvr noe when ur 2t pump is stuck/jam.. if it jams.. ur piston wont get da lubrication den it`ll jam.. happen to me once.. den gotta change piston.. so premix is da safest.. conferm ur piston will get da lubrication.. but its a hassle when u top-up evrytime.. IMO.. if ur bike has a 2T pump.. juz leave it.. juz ensure da level drops when u ride after awhile to see dat da 2T pump is functioning..

ermz.. depenz uh.. if u often ride.. den u check after 2-3 dayz.. can see it drops.. depends on ur riding style also.. if u always twist da throttle.. i tink da drop will be more significant..

It really depends on your knowledge of the bike and, of course, luck to get a trouble-free WR. I bought my previous ride, an FP plated WR, in 2004 for $3.5k and it never gave me any mechanical related problems throughout my ownership of the ride. And yes, do bring someone who is experienced to check on the bike.
