heres my case :

 

bike wasnt fixed with IU unit..

went thru ERP Gantry while operation period

went thru ERP Gantry AGAIN the same day

 

wiLL i be summoned twice for entering gantry without IU unit ie $70 per summon, or will it be juz once?? any riders care to share ur experience??

 

i noe the best solution is to get an IU unit fixed

You would think with the amount of money we pay them, through Road Tax + Income Tax + Goods and Services Tax + Electronic Money Suction thingy and whatnots, they will at least check once to see if there's a duplicate summon for the same rider per day.

 

Unfortunately they don't. Or They don't give a rat's behind.

 

Try appealing when they come.

will kana summon twice.... a malaysian rider i know when through the erp like no body's biz and was served the fine @ the checkpoint...

Twice. The number of summons will correlate to the number of times you went through the gantry. No discounts.

 

Just the same if you were caught speeding along CTE & later in the day, you were caught speeding along AYE. Both offences, though they occurred in the same day, are separate from each other.

 

Do take note that riding through the gantry without an IU is more serious that having no cashcard, insufficient funds or faulty IU. In this case, you have knowledge that you don't have an IU and deliberately went ahead. The rest are more of an "unintentional" nature.

Dude, you can still try and appeal, PERSONALLY, to LTA at Sin Ming Rd. Speak to the case review officer. You may try your luck and perhaps save $70.

just curious....how they detect that your bike got no IU? and how they can pinpoint it back to you?

Simple. They take picture of your license plate.

First-hand experience from myself

 

You WILL have to pay $140. Period. Mine happened when I went through CTE twrds Town from SLE, and as you know, there are several ERP gantries along the way. One is before PIE exit, one is after.

 

I tried appealing for leniency, stating that I could not avoid BOTH gantries. But the BEST they can give you is just an extension for the payment. Haha. So yeah, there you go.

 

Btw, I STILL dont have an IU Unit fitted.
