Hi guys, I m thinkin of getting s1000r '11. May I ask, 1: how's da FC? 2: maintenance? 3: aftermarket parts availability? I m riding a cbr1000 '10 so it's different, I assume. Hope to get inputs frm u guys so I can decide better. Thanx in advance.

Right hand switch or left hand switch issues.

Is the quickshifter working fine?

Yup. Right hand combo switch faulty. Change it to da 2012 model, werkin fine now.

Collecting my red + white model next week. Wha hiak hiak hiak~~ Can't sleep... :lovestruck::clap:

 

Realised this thread quite dead... Hopefully will be able to meet more S1000RR riders on the road.

Unfortunately there arent that many S1s around. That could be a good or bad thing.

The red and white should be the 2012 model - does that mean the 2012 models recall has been rectified?

I know how excited you are..Paul mention that you are collecting your bike this week...Mine is the next batch, but need to do recall work...:( Can only collect mid July soonest...Congrats to you!

I get to collect my bike sooner because BMW is giving me the model assembled after April. Which they claim have no con rod problem. Most of the other models will need to be recalled and only available for collection in July onwards. BMW kept me waiting for almost 5 months, therefore they give me the bike with no con rod problem.

Don't be upset lah, I need time to get used to the bike. After you collect yours and i'm used to mine, we go riding together loh~~ :clap:

Probably by the time I collect my bike you have already run in yours..and I will still be capped at 9K rpm..haha..Enjoy your ride while I can only watch youtube everyday..:sian:

Waited almost 4months for my previous ride =X

 

Anyway is everyone here getting the PML version or the parrallel versions?

Those that bought from pml, was wondering by any chance can test ride or something.

 

By the way those that do their maintenance at pml, is their price extremely scary? =X

Mine is from PML. There is currently no test riding of this bike at PML. Because all the models are recalled back to fix the con rod problem. First 1000km servicing is free with PML. Yet to service my bike so not sure what the charges are like.

 

You want "scary" servicing charges? Try DUCATI.. :faint:

Hourly labour charge at $60 on top of your parts purchase. 15mins also they charge $15. "Sweat"
