Red Light Camera

Hi,

 

I'm a P plate driver for the past 6 months.

 

Recently, due to my carelessness I beat the red light camera....... very ashame of myself now.

 

Now waiting for the summon. Can you guys help me out:

 

1) Usually how long will the summon comes?

2) I know the offence carries $200 plus 12 demerit points.... if i owe.... does it means my licence will to revoke... as P plate has only 12 points?

 

Anyone who has the same experience as me.... care to share.

usually it would take around 2-3 weeks for the summon to reach you. ur license wont be revoke as p plate cannot accumulate more than 12 points. but in this offence it is 12 points so you still can ride but you got no more points to spare so must be very careful. but if the camera got no flash then you no need to worry.

First offence, demerit points. Subsequent offences, licence will be revoked. My dear friend, value your licence. You sacrificed your time and effort and now u wana give it all away just like that?Did the video u watched after u knew u passed not scare u? Be a considerate driver/rider..Don't be a road hazard. Ur lucky when u beat the red light u didn't run into an elderly person or some kid or worse,crash into another vehicle..Make sure after this episode, u learn your lesson. Once bitten twice shy. N dun drink and drive..

is there red light camera? if there is, is there flashes when u rode thru the red light? if not then for both then chances are u wun even see the letter..u worry abt it also no point, it has already happened..if the letter came also, now u know what ur in for..no point beating ur self for what already happened..n in any case, usually, if not mistaken, if u beat the light just after it turned red, usually nothing..its like a few seconds after that then the red light camera wud start to capture if not mistaken..

Yes there a red light camera at the middle..... even though there is no "RED LIGHT CAMERA" signage before the junction.

as jeethanasim said..most to most u kena 12 points..still got one to spare ma..still can ride but must be super careful ah (when the situation permits u to be carefulL))

dun take your chances...now u got away with it.u wont be as lucky next time round.my advice is..VALUE YOUR LICENCE. usually ppl wont realise the severity of their offence until their licence has been revoked.

guys, don't be so harsh on the TS as he/she (?) has said was "ashamed of myself" now.

just not clear about the law hence just asking what could happen

 

but all points valid, especially the part about being a safe rider... too many "heroes" on the road already...

 

do let us know the outcome "IF" you recieve a letter...

hey jazzman...like so many have mentioned before...if no flash when you passed the junction, you're safe. but if there was a flash, very likely you got snapped. check EDDIES if you are worried. it will show up there earlier i think.

 

just to add on for other p-platers, especially those who also have class 3/3a...be careful cos all the licenses share the same pool of 12 points for that first year! so be very careful even when you are driving...not worth getting license revoked.

I hope the camera didn't went off, mistakes do happen. Speed too fast when approaching junction and want to run amber light are very common.

 

But do remember pedestrians use junctions too, some think they're very smart and cross when Green arrow come out already.

We cant have mistakes made on the road. You get your points now or get ban doesnt matter. At least no one is injured.

Im facing a similar situation in a sch zone.. im also a p plate rider will my license be revoked? Im guilty of wat i did as i was lost..and im truly ashamed of it..
