Need advice on sharing of bike

Hi, I need advice on the above topic...

I will be going for my tp in a few weeks time, but just out of curiosity, well i guess the law about bikes and their bikers is that only the biker can ride his/her bike and no one else.

but even after passing my tp, i may not be intending to get a bike even after 1 year (due to school attachment overseas) but my dad rides a bike too.

Am I allowed to ride his bike even if i dont have insurance or smth like that?

or must my dad do something to allow me to ride his bike?

 

sorry if i sound really clueless but i would like to hear from you riders out there...

ask ur father to go to his insurance company to add your name as subrider..simple

if you ride ur dad's bike without insurance for yourself then both yours and his license would be revoked.

training centers shd really highlight this to to be riders. or they did just no one is paying attention when instructors talk? hmmm...

ans : u can ride ur dad bike, PROVIDED you get insurance coverage for that bike. ask ur dad add in ur name as subrider to his bike, then u can legally ride the bike with ur new lic.

 

how much it cost to add ur name to ins depends on wad bike, ur age now (or some is yr or lic attain) depending on the diff insurance company.

 

how much u hav to find out urself. jus call ur dad ins company give the bike number and ur name ic etc and they will quote u.

& don't worry, i do pay attention to the instructors at driving school but i am just curious because i feel that if i were to get a bike after passing tp, even if second hand, i can use it for a few months, and will not be using it for 7 months due to overseas internship and it will be a waste to leave it unused for so long.
