i am still around. heheheeh....

Managed to solve my batts not charging once and for all... Its the freaking connector to my rectifier. The wires are almost broken... cut away all the wires and hard-soldered to the rectifier. voila! been riding 5 days without suffering from low batteries!

Something abt this Bike...

My personal view on this bike:

Very very good handling

very good speed coz 2 stroke engine

F.C quite ok

Nice outlook

Stock exhaust not very nice so perhaps can change to arrow ones and its italian bike so performance is there but parts not cheap but easier to find parts rather than Cagiva Mito.

One thing for sure theres not much Planets on the rood now a days... new ones are called Raptor same outlook but nicer colours and exhaust. Mah motor they have one. Price 10k on the road. Can try to look for 2nd hand Planet not many shops have it can try A.S.Phoon saw one there few months back... price is abt 3k++ on the road..

This is my 4th bike and comparing it sure Planet is a very much better road bike in terms of handling and speed... :thumb:

hi bro... maintanance's the same for all other 2b bikes like nsr150, krr, etc. oni problem's should the parts worn out or damaged, it'll costs more than thai bikes, simply because ur buying original cagiva parts, instead of thai generic brands dat are available easily & cheaper for most other 2b bikes.

the myth on italian bikes having an expensive maintanance usually refers to bigger bikes like ducatis.

for me, planet is pretty torquey, wit a ok in speed due to it's lower gearing(14t x 43t) compared to mitos and aprilias. the stock gearing is pretty gd in spore traffic as it gave u the low and mid end for overtaking traffic easily. i've oni hit the max of 143km/h on my digital meter when my shift light came up at the 2nd link.

if u feel the need for more top speed, can change to a smaller rear sprocket to a 39t or smaller at the expense of not so torquey on the low end. for me, at dat speed my planet's almost out of control liao, bar shaking whenever the rd's uneven, the wind blast so strong dat my neck & back was strained from having to force my helmet down, etc.

and so, i love my planet because it looked like a monster miniature, having a fuel tank which was styled superbly wit a chromed plate and a huge storage space under it. once i squeezed 2 raincoats and a 1.5l greentea under it!

pls note buying an italian bike is not because of its speed! it's a 125cc compared to 150cc of the more popular nsr150 & krr, a diff of almost 20% in engine capacity! u can spend more money to soup up the power(175cc bigbore kit, engine porting, replacing to racing top & bottom end parts), but most prob u'll be forking out even more for damages or worn out parts in the end...

ride well and flash a smile whenever someone came over to comment wad a swee ride u have... hahaha.... :thumb:

anyway guys, i've found a quality & economical product dat'll give us problem free start up everytime! i think a proper name for it should be a battery revitalizer.

it's a black rectangular box sized like a pack of cigarettes, wit 2 wire leads coming out from it(pics coming up soon). simply connect the coloured leads to the battery and it's done. a red led lits up to show it's in operational mode.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....howtopic=112262

not trying to hijack the thread above but dats pretty much similar to wad this thing does, though it dun warn users of impending battery failure, it simply maximizes the battery life & its charge capacity.

aftermaths of after fixing it on the 2nd day-

be4- on small rds where speeds are pretty much restricted, switching on the mainlight and after parking it, my starter motor would give a very weak & dying crank, if not no response at all(pushstart again). therefore i would religiously switch off the mainlight unless on the expressway/main rd, and would switch it off again when turning into small rd again, as wad i've always adviced fellow italian riders.

after- i can leave the mainlights on all the way and even get a fairly strong crank up from the starter motor wit my mainlights on at the same time!

be4- even i got my mixture screw & idling screw set up correctly, my idling rpm will always go higher or lower at random times, never stayed at dat particular rpm for long( i had my shift light to display the 1st led to be lit up at 1500rpm). makes me hysterical in thinking some parts of the carb or engine was leaking air in.

after- the idling rpm stayed the same everytime whether hot or cold weather. and after revving the bike, the rpm came down fast & evenly, used to come down randomly in response.

so as u can see it's a pretty great product on economical price at the promise of trouble free starting up & extended usable life of the battery! oni to be used for wet cells- applies to wet cell wit unscrewable tops & maintance-free cells. look out for the symbol "pb" on the battery which is the element symbol of lead.

or shake to hear if there's any liquid sloosing ard inside juz to double confirm.

if sufficient ppl were interested, maybe we can do a mo on it?

if ur bike was jetted correctly, it should give u more than 16km/l. mine's doing 17km+/l and it's still not 100% jetted correctly! and when my stock meter used to be working, my digital meter would show 120km/h when the stock meter showed 140km/h. therefore, most of the earlier 2b bikes' meter are not accurate at all... dunno bout the newer ones though. get a bigger bike to go side by side wit u and you'll noe.... ur fuel consumption mileage wun be accurate if ur current speed isn't!
