I've just collected my bike from the garage not too long ago today, I realized that there is this really weird sound coming out from my bike, if im not wrong its right under the oil tank, its something very metallic , like something is loose. I've just bought this bike as a second hand from a 'shop' and i am not too sure if anything is not working properly. some told me piston could be the problem, and i'm pretty worried. the mech from the shop told me that they have overhaul the bike before passing to me, is there anyway i can check by myself ?

No offence... but... If ur unsure and u wanna check yourself, how would u know wad to look out for?

Anyway, best would be to get a second opinion from another shop...

just my 2 cents.

Does it occur all the time? For KRR, there is this unique sound that goes "ping-ping" when the bike has started to cool down after a long session of running on the road... if that's the case, it's pretty normal.

1st thing is DONT PANIC!!!!

when i get my bike i panic like sh*t cos...

oil leaking like nuts (which took me almost 6mths to get it fixed through gana chop head from many ppl etc etc...)

loose chain (cos i never oil etc.... then loads of chopping a well)

gana chop to overhaul bike though all just small small problems that just take about $100 max to fix. almost tio overhaul for $1000? look at the digit difference

anyway back to the topic...

1st is check with da shop they overhaul for how long already...

then within the 1st mth do not go above 100km/h try to maintain at 80km/h safer.

as for the sound since they overhaul already there shoudn't be much problems with the engine... (PLEASE DO NOT PANIC)

check the chain.. see if it loose.. when your bike cold touch the chain see if its very slack.. try to also determine if the sound appears when after you change gear etc... if yes.. try chainging the chain... if that doesnot help try checking your spockets. see if the teeth of the spockets are worn down...

Bsst thing to do after you bought your bike is to send it for servicing at a recommended/trusty motodiam..One that your friends will recommend and hopefully does not chop us newbies..

As for changin chain..Its best to change as a set..Meaning sprockets and chain..Should be change together to prevent premature wear..

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..

Bro i guess you should take out your fuel tank and then try starting the engine. See whether you can still hear the weird sound. Maybe some bolt loose or something.

If not, if u wanna check whether it's your piston ring damaged or anything then try starting the engine. Close the exhaust with a cloth in your hand and try to look out for some scratching or unusual sound in the engine block. If u are not sure get an expert to help u or a trustworthy mechanic.
