LAB quoted better price for tyres vs Universal so we decided to go with LAB.

Cutting up the old chain to install new one (note, Sinnob chain is in loop so we had to pay $10 additional to remove swing arm, suspension and etc to put the whole thing in together)

All in! Loving how the chain is gold which matches the suspension (which is built upside down haha)

Last picture.. If you guys see a cicak on a Honda Tiger's top box, give us a shout out. It's us! And my pillion head is wearing a Hello Kitty M.I.B helmet. Left right center all got Hello Kitty.

Thanks Uncle MJ for the Sinnobs and teaching us how to maintain. And also muhdaiz bro for the recommendations and also offering a ride on his Tiger (although we never got down to riding it)!

Oh overall we paid $235 for the 2 tyres - Battlax 90/90/18 (front) + 100/90/18 (rear) - (I forgot what model must ask my bf) and also for installing the Sprockets + Ignition ($20 + $10 due to extra work for taking out all the swing arm and etc for the loop chain).

Overall for me (I'm pillion) vibration much much lesser at slower speeds (about 40-60), but high speed (90-100) still have, but more muffled. Now ride at 100 feels like 80+ on the old Sprockets. I thought only 80 so I peeked to see and I was pleasantly surprised! Almost kena TP. Lucky see rear mirror from far and slow down a bit :p

Tried from Pasir Ris to Bukit Batok my backside no more itchy (lol!). I can only say it's worth it!!

tyres were a mix and match of BT45 90/90-18 front, and a BT39SS 100/90-18 rear

will follow up on a butt-dyno review of everything listed above in due time

KittyCat and nbk3 ....

NIIIIIIICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

hahaha the labour $30 is not much consider the hard work done ... I ever asked around bukit batok area qouted $40+ for labour only to install sinnobs.

Good deal there you got at LAB.

Sinnob chain without link is actually original design for all Sinnob Sprocs !!!

For exporting here not to have hassle with installation .. sinnob put a link on the chain .

So far 2 riders on pulsar were given the chain without link while the rest all have.

Cheers for both of you and thank you for having the time to update and share your AWESOME TIGER ...... wooooooh SOOOOOOOOO STRIKING!!!! hehehehe

hmmm happens if any bikers stop you along the road ... I won't be surprised lah hahahah cos .. it's the cicak or the super red II attraction!!!!!

hmm btw did you see the stock bushing on the sprocket? ... hehehhee

Vibration to be much lesser maybe next time the BUSHING does comes in handy ..hehehehe

Noise wise how .. any difference compare to stock?

Heat wise how .. did you try to touch and feel the chain after riding?

Thank you again for having sinnob for a change on your ride .. hopefully sinnob does wonders to your ride even more! ....

Ride Safe and Be Seen Always ...... cheers :)

Ya labour $30 for both ignition + sprocks damn worth it, but that is also because we got the tyres from them!!

Noise about the same, just more muffled, like not so sharp. Also the vibration is lesser and also not so sharp. I don't know how to explain. I don't know if my bf noticed the bushing but I didn't :p totally forgot! Woops!!

Heat we didn't go and take note haha we didn't know about the heat difference thing. Tomorrow will go touch touch see see.

Thanks MJ!!

KittyCat ... no problem.

oh btw ... no doubt you are using auto oiler, wise still during bike wash or maintenaince .. do have the chain sprayed using chain lube ... and wise to spray on the front side at the front sprocket area .. yeah maybe some will question why or trying to debate .. what ever ... it will do good on your front sproc that way cos reason front sproc is smaller will always wear much faster than rear .... it needs more attention ... my share only lah .. hehehehe

cheers!!

Oh, no la, its more of cos with the new sprockets, I installed e new chain as well. New chains need awhile to 'sit' properly and have a tendency to lengthen slightly during the first week or so :)

Posted

After about an hour of tinkering, being my virgin attempt, I managed to finally tighten my chain. Lol! Subsequent attempts(hopefully not required for my bike) will definitely be much faster :) just like how I fumbled w my engine oil the first time.

Now that the chain is not as loose, during transition from acceleration to engine break, there isn't a noticable jerk/slack anymore :)

If any tiger riders need to tinker, feel free to lemme know!

Alright lemme get this thread warmed up again. I managed to get my hands on a service manual for the tiger, comes complete with pictures and diagrams so it does help. Only thing is.... its in indonesian. PM me for those who wants it.

2ndly, I've been trying to remove the side panel that covers this part thats in the picture: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/182019_195042693847190_100000243826743_689875_6978369_n.jpg

even after removing the top and bottom allenkeys, something is still holding it back. Any advice?

sorry for the late reply bro. i also encountered the same problem. after you take out the two, there's one more nut you need to take out. its near the gear lever, facing left.
