is it possible to have 2 insurance coverages for a single bike? coz when i sold my 2a bike direct to d new owner he went abt to get insurance coverage even b4 the bike was transfered over to his name. so if tats d case is it possible for me to have insurance coverage to ride my fren's case... for instance this scenario, my fren is d sub rider of his bike while his dad is d owner. can i take another insurance policy tat names my fren's dad as d owner n myself as a subrider while the other insurance policy is still in force?

Yes, that is possible, and the current practice for purpose of change of ownership.

If you check with the insurer, the insurance coverage will only come into effect when the policy holder becomes the owner.

Meaning to say, even if you have a valid insurance coverage for your friend's bike, in the event of an accident, you will not be able to claim from that insurance because you were not the registered owner at that time.

but in this case d owner for both policies will be d same n d only difference would be d sub riders... wat happens then?

How sure are you about your interpretation in the second paragraph above?

The first paragraph is correct. But someone can become an owner and still have 7 days to effect the transfer at LTA. If I were the insured, I would make the case that I, as the new owner pending registration of the transfer, have a valid insurance policy and cover. I would still fall entirely within your scenario in paragraph 1 but still be covered.

He who hesitates is lost!

No. Your best option is to have 2 additional named riders under the one policy.

If you read the intention of the TS, he is not referring to change of ownership, and I'm sure he wants to be covered longer than the 7 day window period
