ngleo,

I believe everyone has got the same plm, same for mine right from day 1.

I rectify the plm by covering it with a piece of styrofoam sheet before closing my seat & upside down my tool kit vertically inside, it works to prevent getting wet when raining or bike washing.

anyone got better ideas..?

I notice that the water sip in from the four screw that secure to the pillion hand rail. The problem started after I remove my back rest. As I mentioned the problem was not there before cos my manual has always been there and never get wet. So I thought maybe I didn't tighten the screw hard enough after backrest removal, but problem still persist.

ngleo,

oic... try dip in some grease onto washer before tighten in, might help to resist water from sipping in.

I felt the same as Kish_Garfield. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for stuff I like. Just like we don't mind paying for quality workmanship in bike shop.

Fyi, I bought mine 2003/05 TP model at $17.8 OTR. Well, it maybe on the high side but, I never regret cos I really luv the machine. I believed condition of bike is much important than the cost.

Personally, I guess there is no right or wrong... juz know what you want and go all out and get it.

Ya, we look forward to meet you and PhilipLolc on your new toys!

Yes I totally agree. There is really no right and wrong. For me I bought my ST base on best of my knowledge of how and what to look for in resales bike. Though I am happy with it I still free sian whenever I come cross bike of same year but cost cheaper. I also feel the same when I read about the FV going for $14 cost I think it is good price for a FV machine.

Sometime even if you have someone to give you the best advise but thing may still happen. Ever heard of brand new STX being recalled due to some problem?

that's true, pay a little more still ok if you really like it...

is yours the 2003 TP model or did you buy in 2003? either way, prices were different then, and you paid only slightly more i think...

just that now the prices really depressed.. bikes from 2 mths ago still higher than now.. wait a little while might drop some more still..

buy price now low, but letting go my current blackbird also low price, bikeshop giving me less than $8k for my 2001 efi model.. so end up to the same :)

gotta go source around see where can get better price for my bike... less than $8k quite bad..

anyone know where will take blackbirds at better prices?

that is but of course too much. 15k for FN? I don't even want to talk about it. You might want to look at this two with special number plate.

FYI, I bought my 10/2000 ST last year may at $13.2k a little expensive but that is partly due to the single digit number plate.

hey Guys,

all that you guys mentioned are all right... cos all are just stating your own pointers and opinion...

My personnal commends is....

FV plate @ 14k cannot be considered Expensive as the mileage is low (30k km ??)

but someone commended FN plate @ 15k - siao huh... can but 2 liao...

I must give u all some info...

there is a bro here that bought a FP plate @ $8.5k, about 2yrs back and sold back to bike shop at that same price recently... dont ask me why lor...

I bought mine in Aug/2001 which bike is about 1yrs old @ $16k...

Expensive ??? not really during that time lor... I feel that its a good deal lor...

1. Mileage then only 10,000km

2. no.plate which i sold away @ $5k

3. Comfy bike

4. Anytime now i can sell the bike to bikeshop and still dont lose money...

I honestly wont mind to sell my 12/2000 ST1100 and later get a cheaper and older model ST1100 , cos i feel that this bike is excellent...

Who dare say older ST cannot perform better or on par with newer model...

Anyway newest model in SG is manufactured early 2004(i think...)

Now there are 2 bros or more selling their beaST due to committment

1. Howey's.. Blue , with nice 2 same digit no.plate

we known both the previous owner

http://www.singaporebikes.com/classifieds/...hp?siteid=22281

2. Paul aka "bo mai la" .. Maroon , nice double double digit no.plate

well taken care and have bought him all over the place

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....0entry2588079

Someone asked about agaration of ST1100 price...

FR - 10k~11k

FS, FT - 10.5k ~ 12k

Accessories, no.plate, mileage, condition, etc plays a part in the prices lor

old bike with good condition engine and mileage ... then go for spray paint lor...

about $500 will give solid solid paint job of your choice...

So it all depends on how u look at the price...

me 2cents advise...

If anyone want a 12/2000 ST1100Y and willing to pay me 13k... heehee i also can sell...

hahahahaha

U can bid for a new number. That's up to you how much u want to bid but minimun is S$1000. Then u have to pay $300 + GST to LTA for the transfer. Incase your bike still on financing... then the finance will charge you separate charges for changing the number.. they claim they have to redo the agreement. So, pay the agreement fees again....

Total i Paid was $315 (LTA) + $350 (Finance) + $1000(minimum tender) = $1665++ ...

So if u really need a nice number for your bike... better be willing to give away that amount of money....
