loss of bike key on bike

Hey guys.. I got one issue.. I was at simpang bedok going karaoke. Halfway through my session, I realised my ignition key is still at my bike. Went there, its not there but my bike still around. Bought a padlock, lock the brake disc.

 

Just want to check with you guys.

 

Currently this bike, I'm the sub-rider. And the owner is one of the forumer here.

 

I do not have any insurance letter with me, as i've lost it and road tax disc, is unavailable as i lost it too. I do not have an extra ignition key as well.

 

So my question it, if i get a bike shop to change to a new ignition for me without anything to prove that I'm the sub-rider of the bike, it is possible? The only way to prove that its my bike, is, I only have the spare key to my box :S

 

Is it sufficient enough for me to prove that it belongs to me? Anyway, i've been riding it for about 5 months now. And i just renewed the road tax and insurance last friday. Do i have to wait till I get the insurance and road tax, then I can get a bike shop to tow it away and put in a new keyhole? And i'm very afraid as the padlock that i bought is very small and can be easily be broken..

 

Lastly, as the bike is still under installments with a bike shop, does every bike shop have the spare key? The owner says that he does not.

 

ANYWAY.. anyone at simpang bedok today? Its a bunch of keys..

Hmm...I would first install a stronger disc lock. Bike shops would not help if you're not the owner unless it's one of the rogue ones.

 

Have you made a police report?(u should)

 

Talk to the owner and ask him to help you recover the spare key from the shop. I'm sure he'll understand your situation. (Everybody makes mistakes)

 

Lastly, be prepared to fork out some $$$ for the spare key...(bike shops love these scenarios)

 

Oh yah...when everything is solved make a spare key and store it safely. Gd Luck.

hi there , ur scenior is ...the person took ur key but not ur bike , why?

most likely is a gd person hu bring it to the police station...so make a police report , so maybe u can recover ur key , if the person wan play plank by taking ur bike key and throw away , have no choice but tochange the whole ignition system , hope u not riding 2A and above bike ,

 

lastly , jus tok to the owner and go to the bike shop together to get the spare key , btw , not all shop keep spare key , cause some owner hu sell to the shop only one key , always and always have a duplicate key at home for a peace of mind ...

what bike is urs??

 

if below 200cc just tow to mechanic shop to change the ignition.

 

if above 400cc, usually shop have the spare key provided the bike is under installment.

 

for e.g s4 key cost ard $80 to $120 to get a spare key from boon siew agent themselves.

go to the shop beside LAB to do your key.they can duplicate for you.
