Hey guys,

Just now I was riding my RX-S on the expressway, suddenly the exhaust became very loud. My 2 stroke "peh-peh" turned into a Bonneville "bom-bom". Then I came to a stop to see WTF happened and I saw the inside of the exhaust came out halfway.

Can anyone tell me what just happened? :cheeky:

Think yr silencer came out :cheeky:

put back yr silencer and tighten the screw that secures the silencer.

if yr silencer is missing ... go and buy from bike shop ... should be quite cheap ... less than 20 dollars

today is a better day than yesterday and the day before

Loud exhaust can be due to several reasons. In general, if the exhaust pipe has any holes or gaps from the valve to the silencer, you have leaks which results in high volumes. Also, if your silencer falls off, you have high volumes.

With 2-stroke bikes, you could have too rich a 2T mix. If that happens, the fibres in your muffler could be coated with 2T, causing all the gases to go straight out instead of through the baffles which mutes the sound, resulting in...higher volumes.

So go see which one is causing you the problem. The last one is easiest to solve so best to start your check there.

All the best!

My bike has been a bit loud lately. I was thinking maybe its the silencer, 'cause it didn't used to be this loud last month.

Sorry for asking a noob question, which one is the silencer? How do I take a look at it? Are there any pictures online i can look at?

Really appreciate the help! Thanks!
