There are many around, such as :

- ATC2K Waterproof Action Cam as mentioned earlier

- Tachyon XC Micro Helmet Camera

- Sports Cam by Adrenaline Systems

- Stuntcams Helmet Camera

- Digital Blue Tony Hawk Helmetcam

 

All these are cheaper than the GoPro Hero (non-HD), but you get what you pay for. A good alternative to the GoPro is the Contour by VHOLDR. Pricing quite close to GoPro, but I like the slick tube body.
