Hi Guys,

I juz got myself an 06 Busa. I find the brakes not working effectively. Is there any aftermarket brake system or component that i can install/modify to improve the brakes?

Will appreciate any feedback from riders who has already changed or modified the brake system.

Cheers

cheap to exp option

1. rebleed the brake system

2. rebleed and change seal/piston/brake pad

3. change brake line

4. change master pump

5. change brake caliper

6. change fork and caliper also may change to "branded" aftermarket for the caliper.

by point 6, u shld have a pretty good braking system

1.Check the fluid's colour, level and the feel of the lever. If it's too spongy most likely air bubbles are trapped inside.May help you save some labour $ there.

2.See the thickness of brake pads, not necessary must change.Seal/o-rings must change as a set .Unless when you compressed the brake lever you dont see the correct number of pistons inside the caliper compressing the brake pads.

3.Change steel braided brake lines and after bleeding have a feel at the brake lever.

4.change brembo master pump 19x20 provided you dont think the steel braided brake lines aren't sufficient for your braking strength.

5.Dont waste unnecessary money if your's is a stock busa or with minor mods, its over kill.

6.If you are an hardcore rider with heavy engine mods with lots of torque and hp go ahead.

1. u didnt tell him what colour to look for, how he know? thus i simply recommend to rebleed since he just got his ride without know how is the maintenance done to it.

2. u again nv tell him the thickness of the pad, how he know? read above.

3. of course change brake line u need to rebleed. i will be luffing is this is not done.

4. i didnt mention the brand is that he may wan to go to "ultimate" AP brake master.

5. i didnt say change to brembo. sometime caliper too old alot of internal scratch will cause pressure drop etc so a new oem caliper may help. but of course, can change if he want too :D

6. busa itself is already quite a good bike. it is not a must to have alot power/torque then u can change. it is juz to improve the braking system overall. but then again. it is his money. he decide :D

Hi Guys,

Sorry if my questions have caused sparks to fly.

Nevertheless, thanks to quizesilver, nok 97, pinetreetmh and MERCENARY for their feedback.

Mine is stock, no mods done to the engine. Only changed HEL brake hose. I juz don't feel confident riding when the brakes suck big time.

I will re-bleed and change the brake fluid.

Just to check, where to change the master pump to Brembo?

change to ebc fa188 HH brake pads first and bleed properly and see if there is any improvement.. do the cheapest and most simple one first. if still not happy then chg to brembo master pump

if you have a headache do you take panadol first or go have head surgery?

Now worries dude,we do know each other and its just discussion and sharing.EBC extreme brake pads are a better grade than EBC HH and it lasts longer.Google it
